Great bag

Recently bought this bag for a carry-on in a ride to Europe While I wish there were outside attachment options, this bag provided plenty of separation in nice easily divided compartments. The 30L is a perfect carry on and I can easily fit 2-3 pairs of shoes in the separate compartment. The laptop area is amazing and provides an easy location to access a computer (including larger size ones) on longer flights. My partner saw my bag and now wants one! I previously used a north face duffel bag but noticed the Mystery Ranch one provided a world of difference including with dividers and having a similar (if not the same) amount of space

Great Features!

I LOVE this backpack/duffle bag combination. The company's website doesn't do justice to the number of great features they built into this bag. I bought it on a recommendation from a popular magazine and was prepared to be underwhelmed, but instead was blown away by how well this bag was designed to meet my needs as an international traveler. First, they nailed the size/dimensions perfectly to maximize capacity and still meet international carry-on standards. Sturdy duffle handles on all sizes so it can be grabbed quickly when scrambling onto whatever form of international transportation I encounter. Traveling in Asia, I have found that streets and sidewalks are not friendly to wheeled carry-ons, so my requirements included backpack straps. The quality and design of the shoulder straps and waistbelt on this bag far exceeded my expectations. Internally, the bag has great organizational pockets and zippered compartments. The bag opens up just like a wheeled carry-on would, providing easy access to contents. The externally-accessed shoe compartment is a great feature. And an unexpected bonus was that my HP Spectre 16-inch laptop fit (easily but snugly) into the padded laptop pouch. Finally, the included shoulder sling strap will be very useful for airports where I have my regular backpack on my back. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, my size XL Scuba Pro Go fins fit easily inside without having to be crammed in sideways and diagonally like they do with most hard-shell carry-ons!

Love it!

Old travel backpack was actually falling apart at the seams after decades of service as a carry on and as an improvised backpacking pack. To upgrade the backpacking and hauling I decided to go with Mystery Ranch because...... well they're Mystery Ranch. We have been using them so long for their tremendous packs that some of them even say Dana Designs. After some research I landed on the Rover so it would be the right size, After one week long trip, I couldn't be happier. The Zoid cubes fit perfectly, and I have never been more organized. I love everything about the bag! OK I would have preferred the brown color, but it was sold out because everyone else felt the same way.

Nearly Perfect Travel Bag

Bag works as a carry on! The Mission Rover is perfect size for long weekend travel. Designed with split side organization, excellent zippers, bomb proof construction, and tons of usable storage for its size; it's an excellent tool for the regular traveler. I have three improvements to offer. -While bag has shoulder straps, the addition of a waist strap would be welcome, especially in giant airports. -Could use some kind of easy access water bottle carry. The dirty clothes access works ok for this, but not ideal. -A few MOLLE strips to attach items. Caribeener + Nalgene = solved water bottle problem.

The New Travel Standard

I got tired of sprinting through Chicago O'Hare to make a connection and decided I needed something else. The duffel bag wasn't what I wanted, but I love being organized and stumbled on the Mission Rover. I've taken it on numerous weekend trips and it's been great so far. Just got it packed for a week long trip to Alaska and I was very pleased on how much I had packed into the Mission Rover (and it was neatly organized). I certainly won't be checking a bag for this trip since this bag seems to do the trip. The Ultimate test for a week in Alaska starts now and I'm feeling confident. Thanks Mystery Ranch!

Great everyday bag for work

I have this bag and the rip ruck that I use for work (fire service) I am hard on my gear and both bags have held up very well at work. I would like to see more everyday bags like a small catchall bag and a toiletry bag. A bunch of us at work go though toiletry bags like nothing. I would like to see MR come out with one because I know that with the quality of their gear, that bag will last me till I retire. The MR bags have held up so well for me that I started with just this bag and now I own 4 different MR bags for different occasions. I have seen where people complain about the zippers and yes they can be a bit hard to open but they are also very strong and they hold up to abuse.

The bag I’ve been dreaming of!

I travel from the States to the Middle East very often and have been looking for something tough yet looks super cool and comfortable, BINGO! The more you use it the cooler looking it gets! It goes under the seat like nothing and on a C130 plane, I used it as a pillow without any discomfort because no external pockets! I will be buying more of it. They really perfected this one! Excellent quality and super functional!

Great for mud-to-suit morning commutes.

I commute daily by bike about 10km from housing to an embassy in a rural SE Asian country. Half the roads are dirt. Half the year the dirt is mud. The sealant on zippers and fabric’s water resistance keeps my suit and shoes good to go. Wouldn’t recommend for heavy rain, but splashed mud and light stuff precipitation, no prob. Best feature is the self-contained “dirty laundry/shoes” compartment.

High quality Carry-on Bag Found!

I was looking for a high quality bag of the perfect size for a carry-on that would easily hold everything I needed for at least a week. This definitely delivered.I recently was on a week-long trip for the first time with the bag and it performed nicely. The material and zippers are of high quality. Paired with some packing cubes I was able to get everything I needed into this bag neatly along with two laptops and an extra set of shoe. Importantly, I was able to easily fit it into the overhead bin on the airplane. However, only addition I wish it had was compression straps so I could've reduced it's profile a bit more in the case it was one of the smaller airplanes with smaller overhead bins.

Great Size. Great Construction.

No joke, I legitimately lived out of this pack for 3 years straight and it still looks like the day I got it. The shoe compartment is fantastic. No airline has ever said it was too large, even though when fully stuffed it may be. It has always fit in overhead compartments. I have never used the external pockets, but its nice knowing they are there. This is probably not the proper luggage for a frequent flyer, you would want wheels for that. However the backpack straps work great for long hauls. Such a great tool to stay organized on the road. I have been extremely satisfied with the purchase.
