The bike is great so far and seems to be a high quality build for the price. I am disappointed with the seat post. It is integrated with the seat (so no seat swapping or adjusting) and is a very short post. My son is at the bottom of the height range for this bike and the seat post is already at the maximum height, meaning there will be no room for him to grow with the bike. I will be needing to buy a new seat post and seat. Seems like a big oversight on this build, but thankfully should be solveable for another $50.
We've had it less than two weeks. Already the brake handle has bent and broken, and now the rear derailleur hanger bent, the gears have gotten all out of whack rubbing against the spokes. I've adjusted it properly twice, then it's broken again a day later. I think I'm better off getting him a less expensive bike, at this stage. It is heartbreaking. It's going back.
The bike runs small even with the seat stem all the way up. The seat is small and hard, I had to get a gel seat cover so my child could ride without complaining. The bike runs well and the gears shift smoothly. Easy to maneuver.
What a great deal on a kids mtb. Purchased because my child uses click shifters and needed to go up from 20 inch to 24 inch wheel size. Had been looking at used bikes, but this was not that much more for a new bike.
