Fits Nemo Tensor- Plus Multi Use
Exped Schnozzel Pump Sack for air mattresses. This bag fits the ExPed Mattresses, but also my Nemo Tensor pad. The coupling is ever so slightly looser than the Nemo Vortex pump sack, but without leaking air. This is a good thing, as the Vortex is a little hard to connect. The Schnozzel Sack weighs 63 grams which is a few grams less than the Vortex. The big advantage is that the Schnozzel can be used as a generous dry bag or even pack liner. The Vortex, on the other hand, is only a pump sack. The Schnozzel sack will replace my pack liner and a couple of other stuff sacks to save me an ounce overall. Not much, but they all count.
Fantastic, multi-purpose piece of gear
The Schnozzel replaced my single-purpose Nemo pump bag, my clothing stuff sack, my quilt stuff sack, my pad stuff sack, and my pillow. It's lightweight and large enough to fit my quilt, pad, and clothes with room to spare. It's waterproof and incredibly air-tight, keeping my down items compressed for days and staying inflated overnight when used as an improvised air-pillow. It works great on my Nemo Tensor pad ... I'd say even better than the Nemo Vortex pump bag because the connection seal isn't quite as tight. (I have regularly deflated my pad when detaching the more tightly sealed Vortex valve.) My campmates were also delighted to discover that the ribbed inner surface also allows the Schnozzel to slip snuggly over the older style Thermarest twist valves. (Closing those screw-type valves was a bit tricky because they don't prevent backflow.)
The BEST Way To Top-Off An EXPED Sleep Pad!
After purchasing the Exped DeepSleep Mat 7.5 Sleeping Pad (which does NOT INCLUDE a pump), I learned that it was impossible for it to inflate fully WITHOUT a pump. I WISH this Schnozzel PumpBag had been provided with the DeepSleep Mat 7.5... because it is AWESOME!!! This, in my opinion, works WAY better than the battery-powered pumps that are supposed to accomplish the same goal of inflating these pads to maximum firmness. This is the best way to top-off EXPED's self-inflating pads. Once the pad self-inflates, I usually need only 1 to 3 full Schnozzel bags-of-air pumped into the pad. The bag was easy to attach and fill. It was easy for me to scoop air into it. Once the bag is full of air, I fold the top opening down 2 or 3 times and can use my arms to push the air down and into the pad, roll the bag down more, and finish compressing the air into the pad. This process is easy to repeat. The bag also is super-thin and fits EASILY into my sleep pad bag. I can't recommend this device enough. Not so sure about using it as a bag (I've used it only as an ultra-light pump substitute), but it's primary function works like a dream.
Light multipurpose pumpsack
Excellent multi purpose pump bag. This is light weight, and based on reviews on Backpacking light, I learned it's also can be used for a dry bag pack liner. Perfect, I've now turned a pack liner, which I already use instead of a pack cover, into also a pump bag for my BA Rapide. I made a diy converter for this to fit my mattress using vinyl tubing and an O ring.
Super easy to use and super lightweight!!
Super lightweight and super easy to use! Took me 5-6 air-fills to inflate the double
does not fit thermarest neo air xlite nxt
I just bought a new thermarest neo air xlite nxt. It will not fit on the the valve. I will have to find or make an adapter. I bought because many claim this will fit thermarest. That might be true but it is not true for my model. Henc the 4 stars it should come with the adpater
