Works Perfect

Pancho down below simply has no clue what this is even for so ignore his review. I bought a spine-clip mount for the dash of my truck made by RAM Mounts and that mount is what this adapter clicks into. You will need to buy both (they’re sold separately and do not come with the InReach Mini 2) in order to be able to mount your device. Works perfect for my application but just do some research to make sure you know what you need.

Not a Spine Clip!

This is an item you will need if you want to mount a spine clip. REI doesn't sell the actual spine clip. It's good for what it is, but not well described. Description should note that you will need to buy an additional item if you want a spine clip for your inReach Mini. REI sez no links to Garmin, where you can buy the clip (wink, wink).

Great Replacement Parts

Was very excited that this is a product! I was worried when the screw on my InReach Mini broke while I was finishing up the PCT. 2600 miles of rough use is a pretty good life span for this equipment, and its a reasonable price too.

Why buy it?

I bought this when I purchased my InReach Mini 2 and thought I need it for my new unit. I did not. I don’t think it provides anything in addition to the unit. It must be a replacement for the original attachment.

Unfortunte that this is needed, but it does work

It is really unfortunate that Garmin did not just add the little groves in the back like they did on the Expolorer model. But if you put this on (Approx $11) then this slides right into your RAM car mount. BTW, it does not work great with the belt clip.
