Easy to use and well designed, many good details
Perfect shelter from sun, while also offering storage for stuff, the tent was taller than expected. We could easily sit in our chairs under the canopy. There were a lot of details, sand bags for weight, grommeted flaps for tent pegs (but we replaced the original pegs with our own heavier ones). It was a bonus that our nieces could change out of wet clothing with good privacy. I put it up alone the first time at home, but it is easier with a buddy. Good luck getting it folded back in the nice provided bag, we will buy a second stuff sack for the tent and use the original for the poles and sand bags. Coleman - if that carry bag was a couple of inches larger, we would love it!
Great on the beach
Very easy to set up by one person plenty room for two person. Light weight!
Shade shelter
A very practical shade shelter for the beach or perhaps a day in the park. Set up is a bit challenging for one person, particularly if in a wind. The mesh channels for the tension poles tend to catch the joints. Once set up, it works as intended and provides welcome relief from the sun and a a place to stash items. Take down is less of a challenge but again, the poles can catch on the mesh channels. Careful not to pull hard as it will rip (from other reviewers). Getting it back into the zippered carrying case is your final challenge. Had to fold and refold several times to get it to fit. Good news is that it will fit in a standard carry on roller bag.
Awesome beach tent
Love this Coleman Beach Tent! It packs small enough to strap on our motorcycle trips to the beach. We can zip the door & window, to change from motorcycle gear to beach clothes. It also has a small line to hang towels. My husband set up by himself at home. With beach wind you might need 2 people to set up.
Cute and strong SPF tent
I love my spf tent. I wanted to get one last summer and finally got around to getting one. It was relatively straightforward to put together. I had it ready for enjoyment in under 20 minutes. Also I was able to put it together on my own even though the directions recommend 2 people for assembly. I’m a petite female and it was no problem. Just follow the instructions step-by-step. They are clearly written and the product is made in the USA so it is durable. Great for chilling at the beach, napping and doing whatever you like while protecting your skin. Perfect for me as I love to swim but not get too much sun on my skin.
Poor durability and difficult to set up
The form of this is its best quality -- it's a great size, provides ample shade, and works great at the beach. BUT you'll have trouble setting it up, especially on a crowded beach, as you need room to extend the poles and then spend time snaking them through the long pole sleeves. Clips would be much easier, and would solve the second issue of durability. Our shelter no longer functions because the pole sleeves developed holes (which made it even harder to snake the poles through), and then the poles themselves snapped. Third problem - the included stuff sack was very small and had a low quality zipper. It was never easy to fold up the shelter small enough to fit, but once the zipper failed we were holding the whole thing together with bungees anyway so it didn't matter. Lasted one season, and was replaced with a different product. Save yourself the trouble and start elsewhere.
Great home base for little at the beach!
We used this for our son at the beach for sun protection and naps. It was easy to set up and was small enough and lightweight that it was easy to carry along with everything else we had that day. We continued to bring it in later years for cousins. It was warm inside when closed up for naps but I liked that you could open the window screens if needed but lost a little of the darkness.
It was okay.
So we were pretty excited to try this out however it is basically just like setting up a full tent on the beach. We were at outer banks which is very windy and well it just was not worth the battle. We got it for the pups but it was just very unruly to get it up. I would not recommend. The price was decent but kind of a waste when you can’t use it.
Great beach shelter
Just tried this out and love it. Big enough for 2 beach chairs and a towel and love that it can be zipped up for privacy. Only negative is that the window at the back unzips from the bottom - feel like it would be better for cross-ventilation if it opened from the top.
Nice to keep the kids out of the sun at the beach.
The Coleman RoadTrip Beach Shade is a fantastic option for casual beachgoers looking for a lightweight and portable shelter with solid sun protection. It’s easy to set up and take down, and its compact size makes it great for short beach trips or outings. This shade is durable and provides adequate ventilation. I have only used it in a light short rain shower and did stay dry. However, if you’re dealing with very windy conditions or need a more spacious setup, you might want to consider other options. Overall, it’s great value for the price and works well for its intended purpose.
