Warm but slouchy
I love having warm socks for around the house, and these are warm, but they do not stay up at all. They can be tucked inside pants or on the outside it doesn't matter. They just don't stay up, I could never use them for anything except lounging.

Excellent Product. Comfortable, light weight, good price. Quality is excellent. There are a lot of merino wool products out there. This company has superior products to most of them in terms of quality. I would definitely purchase again.
Cute but not Smartwool quality
These are really cute socks but are not the Smartwool quality I am use to and have been wearing for 10 years. I ordered 2 pairs of the same style in different colors. The gray pair had so many loose interior threads they caught on my toes. The toe line stitching was very crooked so I returned them. The other pair twist on my feet and feel thin. I can feel the coolness of the floor through the sock. I think I will go to the store to get my Smartwool socks from now on. They are a cute style, though.
Life changing
I've been suffering with sore toes for several years during the winter months. I finally received a diagnosis of chilblains with the recommendation to keep my feet warm and dry. These socks were well reviewed by The Wirecutter and I'm happy to report that I've had no pain or soreness in my toes since receiving these socks. The temps in Cleveland were -6 this past week and I've worn my smartwool socks walking the dog and to my office downtown. I can't believe I didn't know about these before.
Beautiful to look at BUT got destroyed in 1 wash
I was so excited when I got these for Christmas, but these socks got destroyed with only 1 wash. I followed the directions to a T, but they got holes in them just from a gentle wash. I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO WEAR THEM FIRST (beyond the initial 'ohh look, new socks! let me try them on!'). The other socks from this company that I was gifted seemed to hold up fine so idk what happened with this pair. I'm going to try and sew them back up, but overall this is kind of disappointing.

Why oh why Smartwool will you not make these in gray again? I have been a loyal Smartwool customer for nearly 2 decades and own no less than 2 dozen Smartwool socks of different kinds, but the 10 I have of these Snowflake Crew Socks are my favorite because they don't squeeze my shins/ankles and leave imprints like other styles. These are more relaxed and comfortable, and maybe a little warmer because of that. I have a size 8. 5-9 foot (depending on the type of shoe) and I learned early that I need these in size Large to allow for shrinkage in the wash. (I air dry them - no dryer - but I still find the extra length more comfortable. ) All that said, 6-8 years down the road they do eventually wear thin, especially on the heel. I would happily send them in to Second Cut but you need to make them in gray again before I can do that. Please.
Addicted!
I wear these around the house with my Smartwool base layers. I also wear them with tennis shoes and boots. They are super soft, comfortable, and stylish. They do wear through sooner than other styles of Smartwool socks, but I absolutely love them. I might have an addiction as you can see from the pics. This isn't even all of my Smartwool socks. I own almost every kind and they are the only socks I will wear.
Beautifully warm, could be a little thicker, but recommend!
I love the red snowflakes < 3 They are a little thinner than I was hoping for, but they are still warm, snuggly and have an off-white that's kind of a vintage look. I bought them to run and do snow-sport activities in and I've only worn them around the house, but imagine they will keep my feet nice and warm. Can't speak to the wear yet as I just got them, but totally recommend a try!
These are the best socks for winter!
These socks are cozy and thick without being too hot and I wear them constantly with my Birkenstock's inside, and with my boots outside. Once the temperature dips there is nothing better to curl up with. The quality is superb and the style points are there too but are less important to me. Overall a huge win and I hope you keep them coming!!! Let's see a deep forest green next!!!
SW never disappoints
If you often have cold feet, their socks will change your life. I’ve bought so many pairs through the years foe both myself and friends, to introduce them to SW. These socks were bought for this very reason and now my friend wants more. One comment: please bring back more of these “popcorn” like socks. I have many types, but find these to be really comfortable.
