Nice and compact. Jacket folds into the hood...great for packing. Lightweight and not bulky. Love the color
I've had this jacket for over a year and it is my go to for mid - cold to very cold days. Super lightweight and packs up nicely in pocket. It also is superb as a layering with a rainwear outer shell
I've been on the hunt for a lightweight insulated jacket for daily use for a few years now. I've tried and returned so many. They were all either missing features, didn't fit well, looked weird, or weren't warm enough. After 2 months of almost daily use, I can say that I have none of those complaints with this jacket. My driving reason for finding a new jacket was that I was sick and tired of the internal chest pocket on my old puffy. Getting my phone in and out of it was a pain. I hate unsightly lumps in my pants pockets when I can avoid it. Other jackets with external chest pockets have huge ugly zippers or wimpy hidden ones (I broke one of these and had to rip my phone out of it). This zipper is understated and durable. The insulation in front of the pocket prevents a phone from making an unsightly bulge. The height feels perfect too. Excellent design. Next is the look. I got the black one for city use. My friends say it's the best looking puffy they've ever seen. One friend that has never bought something I talk about picked one up the same day. Fit - This is the first puffy I've seen with stretch using the traditional baffle look. I've sold or given away my other non-stretch puffies. I always gain a bit of weight in the winter, so stretch is very welcome. Even so, this doesn't look boxy or sloppy. The length is very nice and creates a flattering silhouette. Temperature regulation - I live in DFW, so this jacket is warm enough for pretty much all winter with an optional light fleece underneath on the coldest days. The wool panels and 700FP down keep me warm enough, but not so warm that I overheat when stepping indoors on shopping trips. I can also go on walks or hikes without overheating. This is common problem with other puffies I've used. The moisture resistant/quick-dry down seems to be a good fit for my humid environment. I'vr also taken it on a couple of humid crag days and it has worked well there too. The hood fits well and looks nice. It works well over a beanie and the cinch is good. I've had a puffy without a cinch. After a windy day on a Colorado trip I'll never make that mistake again. I'm tempted to get something with a two-way zipper for belaying at the crag, but I like this jacket so much I don't think I'll bother. The strength of this product will have me watching Artilect going forward. I've already picked up some of their other pieces and enjoy them as well.
