Absolute waste of money
These boots are trash. The rubber crumbles after only a few uses. My wife was mid hike in the Swiss Alps and was shocked to see not one, not two, but three large holes where the rubber base used to be. This is extremely dangerous and has me wondering if I’ll ever buy anything from Columbia again. Beyond disappointed.
Poor Quality
I bought these boots 2 years ago and only wear them to shovel snow 2-3 times a winter and minimal use around the yard in November and December. The last snowstorm of shoveling a few inches of snow I noticed that the top of my feet felt wet. On inspecting the boot I noticed the the rubber part of the boot that meets with the seem is cracking! I don't know how Columbia can put their name on this boot. I will be going back to Sorel's.
Not just for Play • Construction game changer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Every year for as long as I can remember, I purchase a pair of new boots for work. Yes work. It's not always about climbing mountains, hiking the hills and trails. It's also about comfort. When construction calls, I see it as an easy choice. If I can climb Everest or hike hocking hills in these boots, then it makes work a cake walk in my Bugaboot III Columbias for construction. I can do it All wearing the same boot :)
Poor Durability
I have had my boots for a couple of years. They have not been abused. Today, the left boot has catastrophically failed. The rubber bottom split nearly 360 degrees around the boot, exposing the insulation inside. I will be buying winter boots from another company.
Smaller than expected
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My size is 10.5 in all brands. Here, I also ordered 10.5, but I could barely fit my foot in them even with thin socks. When purchasing, go one size up.
Bad product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not even 1 year old and completely falls apart - not waterproof
Poor quality on rubber part
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought it 2 or 3 years ago; but today was the first time I wore the boots, hey I live in CA, we don’t have snow here. I stored it in a shoe cabinet all this time. I noticed some discoloration on the rubber part when I put them on; but NBD since I cared more about the functionality. I spent an hour in snow when I took them off the rubber part just fell apart, it feels very crunchy to the touch. I expect boots to last longer than 2-3 years with rare use, let alone no use.
Original Bugaboots - 20 years old
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned Bugaboot originals for about 20 years and have snow shoed and snow camped with them. Only this season did I experience them disintegrating and no longer useable. But come on, 20 years is great!! I plan to buy another pair of the newer Bugaboot III. Yes they are plastic but I've always been dry and warm in them. Wanted to add pictures, but site wouldn't let me?
coming apart at the seam after few months
The stitching came apart already. Only a few months old & are coming apart at the seem. It was a concern my husband had when he examined them but once he put his foot in the boots they were sooo comfortable so he was hoping they would hold up. Unfortunately they didn’t These are the only boots that has the perfect arch support he needs to work most of the day pain free.
Pretty good boot but with some big drawbacks
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These boots felt great the first few times I wore them. The fit on my foot is excellent and they're super lightweight. The soles have good grip on snowy inclines and overall the boot is quite functional. My only initial complaint was that the stretchy laces don't hold at all so it's a bit of a pain to lace the boots tightly. The biggest issue that I have run into after about a month, which makes the boots almost unusable, is that the upper part of the boot folds in and pushes into my ankle whenever the toe lifts up - such as when walking uphill or stepping on uneven ground. This crease pushing into my ankle is painful and causes me to alter how I walk to avoid the pain. This issue is a huge bummer for me because I thought I had found some great boots but now I cannot rely on them for covering any long distances due to the pain. You can see the crease in the photos coming from the third lace eyelet up from the toe.
