New Pedals work as well as older pedals.

Purchased a new gravel/endurance bike and needed Look KEO pedals. I have had Look KEO for 14 years on my road bike. The original Look pedals on REI have excellent ratings. The next pair up has a lower rating. These were unrated. I changed cleats and went for a first ride. Since I am older, I wanted to test unclipping. They work exactly as well as my original pedals. Big thumbs up. I do not have many hours of riding with these yet. There is a bit broader base to them, which is helpful. I like them and look forward to both training miles and event miles clipped in.
