This is a thoughtfully designed pack with features that allow it to be used interchangeably for day hikes, commuting, or overnight travel. The main (middle) compartment is large enough to hold at least 2 changes of clothes, toiletries, and a pair of shoes. On a recent hike, I was able to fit my hiking boots, down jacket, rain jacket, hat, gloves, and a bag of snacks in the main compartment, which was great. Within the main compartment, there are also 2 integrated, full width pockets that will hold a 15" laptop and magazine size documents. So this takes care of the work department! The front compartment is slightly smaller than the main storage area as it does not have the accordion extension, but still very roomy. On a day hike in Jones Gap State Park, I filled it with my Jet Boil, 2 freeze dried meals, a book, first aid kit, spare pair of glasses etc. and still had room to spare. The 2 zippered pockets (1 in each compartment) are very handy. The one in the front compartment is full width which is great for wider items. There is also a zippered pocket on top of the pack for frequently needed items such as cell phone, keys, sunglasses etc. The large hard finger openings on all external zipper pulls are a nice touch, as it allows easy gloved operation. Cushioned mesh padding on the back and shoulder straps is comfortable and adequate. The single external bottle pocket works fine for single handed operation. The chest strap works well and keeps the pack in place. A waist strap would be great, but given the expected usage profile of the Rhune 22, it probably isn't a material omission. The shoulder strap pocket is smaller than one would expect, and it probably wouldn't hold much more than a chapstick or earpods. Overall, I like this pack a lot. It is versatile and can easily handle recreational, travel, and work usage. Build quality is great (as one would expect from Gregory), and it has many nice touches that make a difference. I am happy with my Rhune 22. The pack has
I am obsessed with this backpack. I was initially excited to use it for camping, but quickly realized it could hold all of my work equipment for an airport carry-on during work trips or an office visit. My husband keeps stealing it. There is ample storage in addition to the main pocket. In my photos you’ll see I have two camping chairs in the main pocket along with my MacBook. The backpack is super light. Every time I use it, I find a new pocket or compartment. My favorite part is that it’s still a sleek backpack while having so much space.
This pack is lightweight and comfortable to wear, and is just the right size for what I need. It easily fits an iPad (any version), a laptop (16", maybe even larger), and all of the stuff I carry back and forth to work. I especially like that it has several zippered pockets to secure my smaller items, and the few pockets without zippers have elastic to hold things secure inside. The back of the main compartment is secured to the front of the pack with elastic fabric, so if you need a pack that can unfold wide open on a table, this might to work for you. I generally keep the pack upright anyway, and as long as there is some "ballast" in the main compartment, it stands up nicely.
This is a great everyday, multi-use backpack! I bring it to work and also use it for weekend adventures. It looks sleek and compact but surprisingly holds a lot more than you think without looking bulky. The quality of the material feels sturdy, looks nice, and an extra plus is that it is made of recycled material. The padding on the back is nicely cushioned and I like how it incorporates breathability. The pockets are well thought out for easy organization and zipper security. I appreciate the little zipper pocket on the straps for quick easy access to put headphones that I am constantly losing when on the go. Overall, it's a well designed and versatile backpack!
I just got done with a week away on business using this backpack and it held up extremely well. I packed it full as a carry-on for my flights, but it worked equally well in a professional office setting. The straps are comfortable to wear and the pack felt very light even when packed full. I love the various pockets and storage space. It was very simple to organize.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rhune 22 does not disappoint. It’s every organizing freaks dream. Amazing for traveling and everyday commuting. I can fit everything I need inside with room to spare, while being ultra organized with all of the compartments. Great tech storage! There is room for my laptop, mouse, and pad. All the charging cords have their own pocket. I can also fit my external charging battery & phone charger. It’s now basically my purse and backpack combined in one, with room for my large water bottle & lunch box. The only thing I am not 100% in love with is the rigidity of the back laptop panel & length of the backpack for a shorter person. I’m 5’5”, and wear my hair down in a low bun a lot of the time. The backpack is a little too long on my short torso. I have to tighten the straps tight to get the backpack to sit comfortably and high enough on my back so the bags entire weight doesn’t fall completely on my shoulders. But when I tighten the straps it pops the bag up high, so if I lean my head back or move my head side to side, my neck hits the stiff spot & my bun gets caught on the rigid laptop rectangle support on the back of the pack, is just slightly too tall for me. I would love to see this product come in an even shorter size for us vertically challenged folks. Thanks for an awesome, spacious & well thought out product!
This backpack is a great size. It is perfect to take to work and has a laptop sleeve and structured, padded back to keep it safe. It has two waterbottle pockets and lots of interior space. The front clip helps with a full bag. This backpack is sporty enough to be used on the trail, but the interior pockets are suited better for day to day organization. Super sturdy zippers and zipper pulls that will last me a long time.
The Rhune 22 is my new favorite thing! Every feature is exactly what I was looking for in a new every day bag. The sleek, minimalist design does not have any bulky external pockets or gaudy logos plastered on it, which is preferred for me. This design is deceptive though, because the internal storage is incredible! There are multiple zippered pockets perfect for anything from bandaids to charging cables, and 2 dedicated slots for a laptop and a tablet. The quick access pouches on the top, side, and left chest can hold your daily essentials such as phone, wallet, keys, etc with ease. The water bottle holder is tight, but holds a standard 30oz bottle, and possibly more. The amount of storage this bag has as a 22L is incredible. It holds so much more! Once you open it up the main compartment expands and allows you to stuff it full of anything you need, and it carries it all so well. Currently using this bag as an every day bag, but could easily pack for a week long trip in it. The recycled materials are lightweight and do the trick, but leave much to desired in terms of style. The quality of everything from the zippers, to the mesh used for the pouches feels top notch. Small detail that was a big surprise was that the top handle is actually part of the bag! You won’t ever have to worry about it tearing or ripping off. This bag is practically perfect in every way and I can not recommend it enough! If this bag were ever to be offered in a waxed canvas or cotton material it would truly be the perfect pack.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rune 22 isn’t going to help you send your next project or set a new FKT. It probably won’t make you a better employee or get you a raise. But it will satisfy that gearhead itch to get a seriously quality piece of gear that you will love using day in and day out. Your stuff will be secure; the things you need will be at the ready, and you won’t have that weird back sweat stain from riding your bike to work. Actually, there is a good chance part of that stain will still be there, but I would bet it won’t be as bad.
This is a great backpack. It’s comfortable and well thought out, especially the pocket placement. It fits well with the body and the aircushion backpanel is awesome. I also appreciate that it’s made out of recycled materials. This is definitely my new daily bag and I can’t wait to travel with it. Well done Gregory.
