Excellent cap for keeping ears warm AND keeping the sun out of your eyes. I have finally found a hat that can do both and not cost a fortune! And better yet, it actually stays on my head!

The ear flaps won't keep out a cold wind. This is a spring hat not a winter hat.

Awesome Winter Cap

What a great cap! Old School look. Pile lining keeps one's head toasty warm. Flexible bill is a great feature, lets this cap fit in a coat pocket. This brim keeps sun, snow and rain off your eyes. Put this hat right to work on a 10F morning that evolved into a sunny 30F afternoon. Performed perfectly. Another excellent hat from OR.

Finally!

Over ten years ago I bought a winter hat with a visor at an army surplus store and when it got too small for me I was devastated. I was thrilled to see this and orders a large right away! Love the colour and the lining is very warm. It was perfect for late fall kayaking on a sunny day! The fact that the brim folds is useful to take up less space when packing. I wish the visor came out a bit more, and the ear flaps were a bit larger and longer BUT I have a big face and head so that's just me!

Nice hat, weak ear flaps

This is quite a lovely hat, seemingly well made and attractive. The top of the cap is warm enough, but the ear flaps will not keep your ears warm. They hang down loosely so that any little bit of breeze will blow right in. If you're the sort of person who does not get very cold, then perhaps it will be fine for you. Personally, my ears are very sensitive to the cold, so this was no good. I tied a bit of elastic around the back, connecting the two ear flaps together so they would stay down tightly around my head, which works decently. Overall, I like the hat very much. It just needed a bit of engineering on my part.

Hat is great for cool weather but check size.

Basically I am pleased with the hat except I would have put snaps on the side instead of 2 buttons. It would be faster and less cold on the hands to put the flaps down. What I am not pleased about is the measurement guide used when I ordered the hat. I did measure my head and looked at other hats I have and I was 1/4 inch under the maximum for Large. So I ordered the large but it is clearly not big enough. The hat slides up on my head. If I was closer than that to the maximum measurement I would have gone to XL but I though the L would be fine. However, I can't afford to reorder given the shipping costs.

I Love the Yukon Cap!

I really love this hat. It's just the right amount of warm when it's chilly. It has a visor for the bright sun. And it's unique and cute. Also it seems to go with everything. I had one just like this and lost it, so I am especially glad to have it "back" again!

Great cap for walking the dog and going to town

As a woman with a big head, I love that OR sells this cap in lots of fabrics and specific sizes (sorry, "one-size-fits-most" doesn't usually fit my cabeza grande). I got this in Large and it is a perfect fit. My partner has the same cap, different fabric, in an Extra-Large, and although he complains that the ear flaps don't lay down enough to provide wind protection, I have not that problem - but I did immediately unbutton the flaps and have been wearing it with the flaps down flat against my ears. I got the Earth/Cafe color, which is a nice medium/dark brown tweed.
