EXCELLENT!! you'll love these gloves
Got these gloves in NH and used them all winter in very cold weather skiing, some days down around 10-15°. These gloves performed perfectly, super warm, 100% waterproof, fit was excellent and they aren't bulky at all. I usually rely on other reviewers when making a purchase but bought these at REI while in NH without reading anything, just tried in and ran with them. I'm very surprised at the other negative reviews. These gloves will not disappoint.
Nice, but far from perfect
These are the warmest gloves I have found with touchscreen compatibility and without batteries. I replaced my Hestra FallLine with them. They are a bit warmer, but I still get cold fingertips when the temps are below freezing. I was expecting them to be warmer. I really miss Hestra's elastic cuff. These are under-cuff gloves and there is no give in the cuff. I guess you are expected to open and close the velcro every time you put them on or take them off. I keep the cuffs large enough to squeeze my hands in, but it's not ideal for then getting them under your coat cuffs. On the plus side, the touchscreen works. You can't type or anything, but you can answer phone calls or manage your audio. They are nice overall, but crazy expensive.
Decent gloves
I bought these gloves for skiing, thinking I would use my phone without taking my fingers out. They feel great, with a tight fit, they are padded at the right places and the leather feels durable. I haven't tested them below - 5°C, but they were warm enough and waterproof. However, touchscreen didn't work on mine (tested on an Ipad, IPhone 8 and Google Pixel 7) and the index and thumb fingertips were a bit too large a loose at the tips to provide the expected pinchability or dexterity, which is why I returned them. They'd still be great for skiing if you don't intend to use your phone extensively or manipulate objects at fingertips.
Very warm, comfortable, durable, short fingers
Put these gloves to the test this winter in Fairbanks. I wore them every day for 4-5 months. They definitely fit hands with short fingers like mine. I wouldn't get them if your fingers are long though. My hands and fingertips stayed warm when I was active no matter how cold it got(-45) but when it dropped down below -10 degrees Fahrenheit my fingertips would get cold if I was stationary for too long. They have not shown any signs of wear and tear yet. All and all very happy with the gloves and the discount is great!
Love These Gloves
I have owned them now for a few months. Used them while snow shoveling and rescuing people on stuck on the road in winter conditions. I really love the look of these gloves. They keep the hands warm and you still have some dexterity in these gloves which is great while working with tools, ropes, ratchet straps, and other equipment in cold weather. Hoping they last several years. I used them a handful of times this winter and they still look like new.
Nice materials, but clunky construction
I feel like I have normal sized hands, and these gloves fit strangely - the thumbs seem abnormally long. Also not a fan of the velcro strap, it is big and cumbersome. My biggest gripe is that these gloves are not warm - my hands froze on a single-digit day. As they are mostly leather, it took a while to break them in and they did become more comfortable, and for spring skiing they are ok. However, for cold weather skiing I would look elsewhere.
Not warm enough; haven't tried them in wet conditions yet.
If you are looking for gloves that will keep your hands warm, these are not it. I have used them to take the dog for a 30 minute walk at -10C (14F) and my hands were cold. I have a pair of Gore-tex Kombi gloves that were less expensive and far warmer. I would say they also aren't practical if you need to take them on and off due to the large wrist cuff. But they will keep you dry! These gloves are meant more for conditions around 0C (32F) when the snow is wet and you want to keep your hands dry. I have not had a chance to try them in wet conditions, but I suspect they will perform admirably in sloppy conditions or when skiing in weather closer to freezing (Whistler?). I live in Alberta where the winters are frigid and I wouldn't recommend them for cold conditions or skiing in Banff or Jasper. I am an OR fan so will try the OR Couloir's next.
Great
Warm gloves that were great for skiing in Colorado. Temps were moderate with lows 14F and highs 38F. Felt really warm for 38F but felt breathable. Easy to maneuver and holding ski poles. Felt very durable. I was disappointed that there weren't any straps to keep them on your wrists when taking them off. The description states this so I knew when buying, but I definitely missed that feature on the slopes. Overall great quality glove.
Warm, durable but awkward cuff
These gloves are warm and durable but the cuff length is awkward. I prefer a thin short cuff that fits under my ski jacket sleeve and allows me to check my watch without pulling my glove half off. Some people like a long loose cuff that fits over their jacket sleeves. This cuff is awkward in that it is too large to go comfortably under and too small to go over. Otherwise, the gloves are great, I just don't like the cuff.
Pretty good gloves
The pros: -Great construction -Love the touch compatibility -OK dexterity and windproof Cons: -Sizing is weird. If you have a small pond and long fingers this glove is going to fit perfect for you. -They do get wetted out pretty easy. Was working on a house putting up siding during a hail and snow storm and they got wet it out pretty quickly. -Not a fan of the velcro cuff. -expensive for what it is
