I've never had a proper snow jacket before and finally bought this one after wearing a friend's Obermeyer. I absolutely love it. It manages to be stylish and soft while also super functional and warm. I haven't worn it skiing yet, but I wore it in the snow and I was actually too warm and had to wear it unzipped! I think this jacket has an attractive fit and felt much more luxurious than the Tuscany II. I think the down insulation provides extra warmth as well. I'm 5'9 and 120lbs and the 6 fit perfectly. Could have probably sized up to an 8 if I wanted to wear more layers underneath. I started receiving compliments the first day I wore this. Highly recommend!
I rarely wear coats. But even in Colorado, if I were to get stranded traveling I decided I needed a proper walking/survival coat. This was a splurge since I probably won’t wear it often. But well worth it in my opinion when I do need it. I wore it today when it was 13 below with are arctic storm. I was warm as could be. Love the color, love the fabric, love all the pockets and zippers, love the hand warmers, love it entirely! Love the hood and fit…..I feel like a million dollars in it😂
Really wanted to like this jacket. Love the pockets, thumb-hole inner cuffs, and color. But the "tailored" fit of the armhole/shoulder area doesn't allow for free enough arm and upper body movement. The hybrid insulation feels heavier on the poly-batting and much less on down, which is disappointing if you're hoping for the cloud-warmth of down. And given the higher price point, it's worrisome that the front zipper is sticky like it might jam/break before long. Sadly having to return it.
I just received the Obermeyer Cosima jacket and haven't worn it on the slopes yet, but I like this jacket for the following reasons: Looks: The design is sporty, yet feminine, with a flattering fit. The bright color (pixie dust) looks stylish with my black ski pants. I'm 5'6" and 134 lbs, and size 8 was the best fit - not too baggy, not too tight. (Size 6 would also have worked, although it was just a tad tight around the shoulders/armpits and wouldn't allow for much layering underneath.) Functionality: I didn't have to compromise with this jacket. It feels like it will be warm enough without a lot of bulk, and will help me regulate my temperature with the underarm vent zips that are super easy to access and open. (It seems warmer than the Obermeyer Tuscany II jacket.) The handy sleeve ski-pass pocket, detachable goggles cloth, key keeper, and thumbhole inner cuffs are nice touches. The only improvements I'd make would be (1) not having the outer top pocket and inner accessories pocket on the same side and (2) the zipper quality (the zipper on the Obermeyer Bombshell jacket seems more durable and smoother).
This jacket is warm. I use it for skiing and am a very cold person. It runs true to size. The hood is a bit small when going over the helmet though. The neck is tight when zipped all the way up. I am 5’6 130 and bought size 8 ( I have broad shoulders)
Warm coat used for downhill skiing Comfortable and flattering
I wanted a warm coat that had a feminine shape and this jacket is perfect. Love that it is slightly fitted but still roomy enough to wear a thick sweater underneath.
The snap was missing from the inside. I realized once home. The zipper is kind of hard. And the string from the hood fell out on the same day I got it when I pulled the string. So, it looks like the wuality is something desired, but not given with this jacket. The style is okay. It looks a bit cheap.
Great fit and feel. Nice and warm with ease of movement
My daughters love these coats, but be advised they’re not waterproof at all as they come from the factory
