Extremely high quality and design
I tested these Arc'teryx Sabre Bib Pants, men's size M, Pytheas (light green) color, while downhill skiing in cold weather. The pants were protective from the elements while skiing in the backcountry or while taking laps at Keystone Resort. These extremely durable Gore-Tex pants are of an eye-catching color and are made with lots of amenities, including gusseted and zippered thigh pockets and a large breast pocket. All zippers are waterproofed. The right thigh pocket contains an inner pouch for a cell phone or similar items, and the breast pocket has an attachment loop that can be secured to any kind of item you don't want to lose. A side zipper extends from the chest all the way down to the knee area, which makes the garment easy to put on or take off. There are two-way double zippers along the thighs for ventilation, and for convenience, all of the zippers have easily accessible zipper pulls. Regarding fit, I'm 5'11' tall and weigh 185 pounds. I usually wear size a pant size large, so these medium pants were perhaps just a bit tight overall, but very suitable, nonetheless. Overall, I rank these bib pants extremely high in quality and design.
Built to Last and Keep you Dry
I prefer bib snow pants and these did not disappoint! The color way was unique and cool. The weight of the pants is on the lighter side, yet does not sacrifice warmth. Both sides of the bibs have double zippers to create vents or access your clothing underneath. There are multiple zippers that seal for waterproofing to store items. The reinforced ankles/calves definitely help when my boots rub against each other or snow. I highly recommend these for hitting the slopes, playing in the snow, and shoveling at home on snowy days.
Exoskeleton for winter adventures
The Arc'teryx Sabre Bib is the ultimate outer layer for cold weather adventures. This garment is equally at home lapping resort ski runs as it is on longer adventures into the mountains. The many years of perfecting the ski mountaineering bib show in the thoughtful features and classic design of the Sabre bib. Favorite features (starting from the top of the bib): - easily adjustable adjustable shoulder straps with a back that keeps them from falling off - large chest pocket for storing important items; there's also a small webbing loop to girth hitch keys or other essentials - belt loops to snug your bib up (if you get it a little larger) - HUGE leg vents to dump heat when the sun gets bright (or you are crushing it up the skin track) - large thigh pockets (right side has an internal slip pocket, which I found great for my phone; left side has a webbing tie down for an avy beacon) - super stretchy gaiters and anti-tear sections to protect from crampon rips One feature that Arc'teryx left off was hand warmer pockets, which I actually appreciate because they aren't generally accessible with a harness or jacket on.
Beautiful. Durable. Perfect all around.
I love everything about these. First, the color is incredible. It looks a bit darker than the pictures online and it’s perfect. It’s a light forest green to me which goes well with everything I have and uniquely stands out too. People can easily spot me when out because I’m not in the typical black pants. The feel of the inner fabric is nice and soft. It brushes against my baselayer nicely and doesn’t slide around. The zippers are strong and sturdy with reinforcement. I don’t worry that these will tear. I really like the pocket in the middle chest area, fits my phone perfect and my cards/ID. I actually work on things alot with these on so the belt looks help me a lot. I’m able to thread my heavy duty 2” belt thru it with ease and attach a work belt to it. Super comfortable. The boot reinforcement lining is perfect for me. I wear ski boots and work boots with these and it’ll help them from wear down.
Great bibs
These are excellent bibs from a technical standpoint. I've already worn them in some storm conditions and stayed completely dry. They intergrate perfectly with my couple-years-old Sabre LT jacket's powder skirt. As a few other's have mentioned, the thighs are a little tight, and I'm not someone in the gym doing squats with huge quads. An extra half inch to an inch and they would have been perfect for me. My one complaint, and it is a nit pick but does seem like an oversight on a high end pair of bibs, is that there is no hanging loop on the the inside of the pants to hang from a hook while drying. Minor, I know.
Fine for resort bibs
I had high hopes for these pants but feel a bit let down. The are excellent resort ski bibs, but that's about it. I am 5'9, 175, 34 waist, 32 inseam, and am typically between sizes M and L with Arc'teryx clothing so I ordered the size large. The fit initially seemed spot on but the shoulder straps proved to be problematic which I'll detail in a bit. I took these skiing and sledding. They aren't purported to be sledding pants, and I'd agree with that. Minor tweaks would make these much more versatile. First, what I like: - the color is phenomenal. the pictures online don't do these bibs justice with respect to the color. based on the pictures online, I expected something brighter than what I received. In fact, the earthy tones really come through and make these absolutely gorgeous in person. - the pockets are well thought out. At first, i felt that the thigh pockets were too low, but as I started using them and flexing on the slopes, I realized that their placement lower on the thigh was well thought out. I never had any interference with my mittens or wallet bulging uncomfortably no matter how i moved. and the chest pocket is awesome for placing my phone and keeping it near my body for warmth and extending battery life. The waterproof zips performed phenomenally as well. - overall construction. these are rock solid. after sledding and sliding on snow, nary a scratch is visible. and they are built to move in. I had no issues with flexibility at any time. - gaiters. the gaiters are roomy with excellent elastic. they also have holes which can be used to strap them to boots. the holes are designed, too, so that snow doesn't inadvertently get in. - side vents. i was skeptical about the vents because they do not have mesh to prevent snow from getting in if they are kept open. however, I found that they could be used to access cargo pockets in my pants which was a major convenience as I generally like to keep my wallet and keys inside where they're more secure. I might add that the left is not high enough to reach hand and hip pockets, only thigh pockets. - side entry zipper. this is integrated with the side zip vent on the right side and makes it easier to get in/out and also make the inside pants pocket access easier. what i didn't like: - shoulder straps. this was a killer for me, and i've included pictures to show what I mean. the strap adjustment sat right on my trap muscle which meant that whenever I had something on my shoulders (backpack, boot back, etc.) it would dig in. in my opinion, this essentially makes them unusable for backcountry adventures and limits them to resort use. - side vents. the lack of mesh prevented me from making full use of these on the slopes. I would open them at the bottom and on the lift, but felt like i had to close them on runs for fear of snow getting inside. - gaiters. I don't know why Arc'teryx didn't put a boot hook on them. that simple addition would make these so much more versatile. In summary, these are very close to awesome, but as is they are quite limited in their use to resort skiing (at least for me). a few minor tweaks such as the boot hook on the gaiters and the placement of the shoulder strap adjusters would make these great.
Excellent
I am ski instructor in the Coast Range in B.C. My old bib ski pants from a different but well known company gave up on the fourth season, split at the crotch. Actually earlier, ripped at the cuffs, and were never waterproof. I wanted the pro pants but Arc'teryx was out of stock. It's hard to believe the pro pants might be better than these, because these things are bomb proof. I've worn them in rain, wet snow warm and sunny, and minus 15 dry. First pair of gore-tex pants I've had that don't need a pair of rain pants over them to make them actually waterproof. Wish I'd bought these four years ago.
Bib quality and design needs work
The quality or Arcteryx gear is declining. The bibs aren’t designed for serious mountaineering. They should have more sturdy construction, two vertical hip pockets as well as the thigh pockets. The bib pocket is worthless. You’d have to open your jacket to get to it. Read the reviews. Their terrible. Arcteryx needs a line of serious alpine guide gear.

Great fit. Tears easily in areas without PowerCuff
After careful consideration, I decided to try the bib pants. Purchased January 2023. I just returned from 6 days of skiing in Whistler, and the area that does not have the 'PowderCuffs' is already showing small tears. Very disappointed. Outside of this problem, they fit great, and I like the colour (Daze).

Terrible Product and Terrible Service
Definitely not recommended. The quality is really bad. Used it for 11 ski days and the leg openings are worn like this. Stay away from Sabre if you need a rugged clothing
