I already had some and Arcteryx jacket the Andessa but I wanted something insulated for skiing but less warm so that's why I bought the Sentinel Insulated jacket. This jacket is good for the Gore Tex and the Coreloft insulation. I'm 5'6" and this jacket run a little bit long (size large). It's Ok for the look and the exterior of this jacket but the problem is inside because the snow skirt is not at the right place. Even if the jacket is long I think it would be better to have the snow skirt on the hips like habitually and not under the buttocks because that's not comfortable. I'm thinking about asking a seamstress to try to modified it but that's desapointing for the price payed.
I’ve been advocating for longer jackets or top from Arcteryx for quite a while as I’m 5’9’’ (1.76m) 158lbs and a muscular built (36B torso with 31’’ waist with V shape body, wide shoulder) It’s my body that is quite long, not my legs (just regular length pants are ok for me). And I’ve been having issues with the length of certain tops or jackets from Arcteryx as I do not like when a jacket is above my buttocks. Well, you know when you sit down and you constantly have to bring your jacket down, so that the area just above your hips isn’t exposed to the cold. I hate being cold and this was a real pain point for me. With this new version of the Sentinel, problem is solved ! It clearly goes below my butt cheeks and I just love it ! Thank you Arcteryx, excellent improvement for this jacket. My only concern was with the thickness of the insulation. I think you could have add more as for the price tag, I should not have to add lawyers to feel adequately warm. In Qc province, we have real winter and at the top of Mt Tremblant, it’s windy. The good thing is that I tried to put my beloved Proton AR jacket and it’s looks great. I have selected the size large for the Sentinel insulated and w an older version of the Proton AR (large), it works really well. I’m specifying as the new sizing chart was a challenge. This Sentinel is quite roomy, hence the room for layering with the Proton. Next step will be to really test this baby on the slopes on my next skiing day. I also luv the snow skirt, though I donno about the buttons, testing on my first skiing day of the season will prove its longevity. Also luv the color, it’s a really nice grayish blue and it was one of the reason I selected that color. I prefer darker colors with Arcteryx products as lighter colors tend to show more the « dirt » of wearing it often.
When I was looking at jackets I was interested in something a bit longer, waterproof, and somewhat insulated. This jacket has it all! It has effectively replaced my ski jacket, with layering it's a great winter jacket, and it also looks great in the city - light enough for spring and fall. The cuffs are sleek, it offers heat vents in the armpits, and it fits a bit more slim than some of the other similar jackets. I love it!
Disappointed in the fit and quality. Bought a medium, I'm 5' 7", 130 lbs, athletic build. Sought an insulated jacket for warmth. The Sentinel IS fit great in the shoulders and arm length, however, the body is boxy and pillows out with movement. Arm holes are tight so layering not comfortable. Material is thin for an insulated item, felt cold. Normally love Arc'teryx, but this is not up to expectations. Sadly, returning.
The sentinel IS has been an awesome resort Jacket this season! I really like the cut as well as the weight of the Jacket. I am 5'5" and it sits below my bottom, keeps me warm on the charlift rides up. Because its insulated I wear less midlayers underneath it , making it feel like it has good mobility in the arms.
Mon sentinel isolé est mon 5e vêtements Arc’teryx. Je suis entièrement satisfaite de ce vêtement. Il est chaud, confortable et douillet.
Long enough and light insulated, not too hot but enough for cold weather ( with mid layers)
Love it. Lovely cosy and warm, perfect for skiing and a gorgeous fit
