Kind of a weird one
Bought this to fit smaller clothing items in within my main roll top backpack for an upcoming 6 weeks of international travel. Initial impressions: CONS it seems they missed a lot of opportunities for useful design features. It’s notably hard to handle, even just getting out of my bag since there are no handles or webbing on the outside. Also, why is the logo patch on the bottom, lol? Would be nice to have buckle adjustments as well as secondary buckles at the bottom of bag as is common with roll tops. PROS the bottom compartment can be comfortably stuffed with more than you think. Rigidity of the material makes compression satisfying and easy. Recycled materials. Ultimately, I’ll be keeping it as it seems useful and fits well in my larger bag.
Poor Design
Patagonia missed the mark with this product. The design just isn’t practical. The quality is excellent, to be expected, however the poor design adversely impacts the overall usefulness of the product. It advertises X amount of volume however once you roll down the top to securely seal from any moisture, the amount of useable space is significantly decreased. You’ll either have to smash whatever items placed in there or only fill the bag halfway to accommodate the space needed to fold down and clip the top. My recommendation is if you’re looking to use this as a dry bag… look elsewhere.
