I bought this directly from the company. I car camp with Boy Scouts once per month throughout Texas. This tent is AMAZING. But it is heavy. But to go to state and national parks for 2 nights a month, it is perfect. The set up is quick and easy. The walls tilt slightly outwards, and it feels like there is more space inside than out. It has a good face, and everyone thinks it looks like an owl. This is my bougie camp set up. The tent, a carpet, a cot, LED lights, side table, and fan. Really, I can't say enough about how much I love it after a long day of wrangling the kids in the troop. I have been in hot weather, cold weather, rainy weather, windy weather. It is great. I would never take it back packing. It weighs a lot! Seriously, this is for car camping only.
I love this tent because of how quick it is to put up and take down. I use it for myself and my dog, and there's plenty of room for all of our gear in the tent. It's really great. However, I took off 1 star because 1. It's quite heavy 2. It takes up a lot of space in my car. It JUST fits the length of my Volkswagen GTI with the back seats folded down. 3. I always trip trying to get out of the door. I spent a hard rainy night in the tent and there were no leaks. I bought fancy ground stakes and a footprint from the Gazelle website. Oh, and I can stand up straight in the tent--I'm 5'3".
Have had a couple of outings so far with this tent. I have been pleased with it. On last outing, there was an all-night downpour. The only issue was a little seepage at one window seam (easily fixable with a bit of seam sealer). No leaks from the top, no water through the floor. I was also happy with the quick takedown of the tent; just beat another round of rain. The only thing I would caution anyone considering this tent about is the doors. As others have noted, because of the construction of this tent, the doors are not big, not the easiest to get in and out of. But, all in all, I have been pleased with this tent.
What a great little tent! Deploys in a matter of a couple minutes, packs up in just a couple of more. I added a vestibule (a Kelty Highroads) to the north side because it was a 100°+ everyday and there was no trees where I was at. The tent was a bit hot during the day, it needs about two tons of cooling, but fortunately at night it would drop to the low 50's. The TX3 performed flawlessly. There were strong winds over the 4th of July weekend (5 days, 4 nights, in the Oregon high desert) and it was rock solid. I would recommend this tent over and over again... in fact, I have.
This is a 10 star tent. We have been using it for the past 4 months after storing it for a year and trying other REI tents which will go unnamed because they did not work in high wind or rain, Long. story short, this T3 has always worked in severe wind conditions . We encountered a tornado two weeks ago, and should have collapsed it for the tornado but did not. The tornado blew it over , becuase we use the regulart stakes. However other then one small part that Ardisam quickly sent us the tent is in perfect condition. We highly recommend this tent. A couple of things: purchase the Overland stakes, remember to pop the ceiling up after you add the rainfly and then make sure to pop the ceiling down before taking off the rain fly, the Gazelle logo on the rainfly goes over the side with the door and window, NOT The side with two windows, purchase the footprint, once you set it up go around the interior floor and make sure the floor velcro is tight to tent walls. If you really want standing space and your car/truck is large, purchase the T4. OK all this said the only cons are : It weighs 28 pounds, the doors are small. PS the green is great especially of you hit some sun, it stays cool and shady.
This tent is so easy to set up. I did it on my own and I'm quite badly out of shape with an injured knee. It has lots.of little windows that offer great airflow and also quite dark in the morning light I can Stand at my full hight of 5'4" The cons are that it is very big to carry around i have to put my back seat down in my CRV to fit it The doors are also very small and require an awkward position to get in and out. It was nearly bad enough for me to return it but it's a very good quality pop up tent Cons are that
I bought the T3 in 2022 because reviews said it was easy to put up/take down and carry which it is. I've used it 3 times and decided to write a review after I recently spent the night in it during an unexpected thunderstorm with pouring down rain that lasted for about 10 hours. It was rock solid. Never budged from it's spot, walls didn't buckle, and not drop of rain inside. The temps outside were in the low 50s and I was warm inside with no condensation.
Awesome tent! I’m a 5’2” 60 year old woman, who’s not in top shape. Was able to set this tent up in 5 minutes flat and take down was just as easy. The most time was getting it back in the bag. Not hard once you figure it out. Quality made zippers, etc. I hesitated on buying it, but so glad I did!
So far so good with this tent. I hesitated for awhile on buying this tent because I wasn’t sure how a pop up tent would perform but it has been great. The materials are high quality, the set up is easy, and there is plenty of room for gear and such. Some cons that are a bit picky on my end but thought I would share. The tent is huge to carry around. It is not a space saver whatsoever. I’ve had to put more gear on my vehicle racks than usual because of the space it takes up. I would also like to see the rain fly cover more of the tent and even have a vestibule added. Lastly, the doorways entering the tent are quite high and can easily be tripped on when getting in or out. These cons do not affect my rating or opinion of the tent. Just minor things I would prefer to be added or to be better. Highly recommend this tent!
Best tent I have ever owned worth every penny I spent.
