Not as small as it seems, I like this thing!

When this arrived I thought it looked small, but after using it on a few trips it easily holds as much as I need. Thoughtful packing and folding, combined with the compression straps, and it feels downright cavernous inside. It might feel small if you are trying to get a pair of shoes in there. There seems to be a little side-to-side play in the handle. It does bug me a bit considering the cost of this, but I never notice it while walking. Only while fidgeting around waiting to get on a plane. I'm going to try to test another one in a store to see if this is an issue with mine or with the design. Not worth knocking off a star in any case. I like how minimalist this is. Dirty clothes TPU bag is awesome, front big pocket for a rain jacket, and front upper small pocket to dump wallet/phone/passport during security check. And that's it. I travel with a personal bag that holds all my tech, work stuff and my dopp kit. If you're looking for luggage to hold everything this probably does not have enough organization in it. Regarding comments about the look, I disagree about the wear on the waxed fabric. I'm rough on stuff and I see very little marks on this. That includes 4 plane trips, having checked it once, and numerous times getting tossed into a dirty 4x4. The bag shows very little wear for all that. I actually like the waxed canvas look and was hoping for more patina out of this. I have Nutria and would guess the black version would show a little more. Not sure what the commenter below did to theirs but mine looks basically the same as day one. Speaking of Nutria - it is not brown like the photos seem to show. It's green! But it still looks great.

One trip and it's destroyed

Love the look of this bag, but ONE flight and the bag is completely destroyed. The material scratches very easily, so one bump in the overhead bin and it's scuffed. If you gate check... forget about it.

The best Carry on i ever owned !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Aion Carry On Spinner from Thule for all the different trips i make throughout the year. This is the best Carry on i have ever owned, it is made so strong, looks good, its easy to pack. I love the extra see through pouch that you can attach inside the carry on, its prefect for toiletries. The wheels make it easy to go through the tight aisle in a plane with the wheels moving any ways you need them.. and the handle adjust to the height you need.

Perfect carry on

I needed an upgrade for my carry on and I wanted to complete my Thule set. The Aion fits the bill for as I travel for work half the year so I needed something that can keep up and be reliable. I have to travel with work boots so the front compartment is perfect for size 12 boots with no issues. Plenty of depth on the other side for a work week trip. Wheels are smooth and so is the pulley action. Like some have noted if you swing it around and the front wheels are turned in it will tip forward with a bag on top but not terrible just an awareness. Highly recommend.

Thule quality but beware of color and material

I love the build quality of this luggage, as it's always the case with Thule products, I was very disappointed though to discover that the "Nutria brown" color looks nothing like the official pictures. This is not a tan or light brown color as it appears on the pictures, but an "army green" tone. I'm considering returning it just because of this. Also, note that the outer fabric is waxed. This makes it waterproof to certain extent, but will look used and "aged" right out of the box. And that will only increase with use. Some people like this, but it may not be for you if you want your luggage to look new and shiny.

Stylish and Lightweight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received the Thule Aion Carry on Spinner and am very impressed with the quality. Right away, the durability of the suitcase stood out. It has plenty of well thought out zippers for storage, including a “hole” to pass your headphone wires through. Great little compartment for your phone as well. I also am greatly pleased at how well the 4 wheels spin and turn. Lastly, the handle extends up and down with ease. I am looking forward to using this spinner on my next trip.

Flawed Design

Bought this on Tuesday, November 25 for a trip to California. Arrived in California on the 26th with a busted Spinner Handle. The telescoping handle and its casing were broken in transit rendering it inoperable. (There is no longer any guarantee that luggage will not be checked, as planes and overhead compartments are full.) REI accepts no responsibility for the poorly constructed luggage and will not accept a return/refund. So disappointed in REI telling me to contact Thule about the damage. Really? Who would have more clout with a retailer, me or REI?

Didn't hold up to the test of time

Bag has worked well for me for short trips for a few years, but just got back home after a trip and noticed I'm missing half a wheel. Not sure how it fell off, but for the price I would have liked this product to last at minimum 5 years. It's been less than 2.

Makes traveling easier

I went from backpack luggage to all wheel rolling luggage and it makes a world of difference for running through the hectic airports. So far it’s traveled with me from LAX to Boston, New Hampshire and Maine. It’s held up to my abuse so far.

Great luggage for the real people

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you go on hikes and if you are athletic, This is the luggage for you. I can’t stop praising how high-quality this carry-on luggage with amazing spinner wheels is. It is clear that somebody who travels as well as goes a little off-road designed it from the bottom up. The functionality and the way everything works is amazing. I love how it’s such a strong suitcase but also I can pack everything in its own place. I love how if I have hiking boots they are in their own little area where they’re not getting everything else dirty. Just having this place to put footwear is worth it. And if you travel a lot you would know how valuable a great piece of travel luggage really is. I’ve taken this now on two trips and I’m surprised how well it’s working. I am coming from Away carry-on and those are great but this is so much better. It really comes down to all the little things, like the little compartment for toiletries, the compartment for your clothes compartment for easy to go check it and a simple easy access for your wallet. All these little things really make this luggage from Thule worth it. Give it a try, you won’t regret it

Good size carry on, but scuffs very easily

I think the bag is a decent size and is especially helpful on budget airlines or traveling internationally. Its definitely smaller than most carry-ons but fits the essentials. If you need to pack more, I found the duffelbag version of this Thule luggage line to be better for more stuff on those short trips. The handle is adjustable- super nice considering the height difference between myself/spouse. Its also very sturdy. My only concern how scuffed it will be if I ever have to check it. The canvas fabric is easily scuffed (which Thule says is by design) and the plastic backing has several scratches after a couple of flights. Would still by this product again even which the negatives
