Ok first, this is a very, very entry-level rain shell. I've had the entry-level offerings from North Face, Patagonia and HH and they were all superior to this jacket. My main beef though is the sizing. I am 5'8" and 150lbs and the Small is absolutely huge on me. I look like a toddler in their older sibling's clothes. I've never understood why these companies can't make a regular human-sized jacket but, there it is. If you're going to buy this and you're anywhere near my size order an extra small if possible. How 5'8" 150 is extra small I'll never know but caveat emptor.
Great fitment, keeps me dry, stowaway pocket also is very useful.
Wore the jacket in the rain. When I took off my backpack. I noticed that the water repellent was less than abrasion resistant. The the rain coat prevents water from getting on to my clothing. Water adheres to the surface of the rain coat with pack's contact area. Overall good 2.5L rain coat. I want to find an abrasion resistant water repellent. Reviewing Acadia XL rain coat.
I live on the Oregon Coast. I wanted a quiet rain jacket for hiking in the hills without getting me soaked both inside and out. I like this jacket and will keep it. It has pit zips which help with sweat evaporation and moderating body temp. It is a bit noisy tho. I do wish it had another pocket for my phone. But this is an acceptable jacket which I have worn quite a bit already.
My Acadian jacket arrived quickly. But for an outdoor clothing company to ship the jacket wrapped in plastic, inside a plastic envelope, is seriously disappointing. The jacket looks nice so far, won't know how it performs until the next rainy adventure. But I won't recommend it to anyone else until Mountain Hardwear switches to more environmentally friendly packaging.
I love my new Acadia Mens' Large Rain Jacket in Wild Water Blue! Unfortunately, the hood doesn't fit as well as my old Mountain Hard Wear Acadia Mens' Large Rain Jacket. The old hood fit tighter and I had better peripheral vision. The new hood fits looser and blocks my vision a bit. Overall, the colour is amazing and the jacket itself fits well!
Great light rain jacket with the amount of times that has rained in California this year (not much), but mostly wore this to protect against the wind. It runs a little big, if you want a perfect fit, you'd probably wanna get it one size down. I didn't mind it as I can layer up.
Hello, I bought this jacket for my son's birthday, and he doesn't like the colour. I am just wondering if it may be possible to trade it for "wild water" blue, or "dark army" green? Although he opened the plastic, he never wore it. Thanks, Steve
I purchased this to be a rain jacket, and it handles that really well. It is also surprisingly warm considering how thin and light it is. I would purchase it again if I needed another rain jacket for any reason.
This one piece of gear was a life saver during my 14 day trek to K2 Basecamp. This rain jacket kept me warm and dry during the ever changing weather on Boltoro glacier. A must have.
