No, I do not recommend this product
I love the idea of this bottle and I wish my experience was different. I do not recommend this bottle. It leaks whenever it's not kept upright. For this reason, you can not pack it well. If you are hiking and you do not keep the bottle or your pack upright, it will soak all of your gear. The 1st time it happened to me, I placed it sideways on the top of my bag. All the water leaked out except for a few drops. Luckily I had another bottle. I thought I must not have tightened it properly. That night at home, I filled it, then placed it on a lounger. When I came back to sit and watch TV, the chair was soaked from all of the water that leaked out. I tested it several times after that. No matter how tight I turn the lid, the water still leaks out. Lastly, if you accidentally knock it over with the straw open, the water will just stream out.

Truly leakproof
I bought this mainly because it had a straw AND was leakproof. I've been using it every day for the past six+ months. I cannot imagine a water bottle to fit my needs any better. I toss it in my bag all the time and find it upside down later. There has never been a drop leaked. For some reason occasionally when I open it, some water squirts me in the face. Small price to pay for the best water bottle ever.
