The fit is true to size and I like that fact that the pockets protect your contents from water and snow. Have not used them yet, so look forward to how they perform skiing. Would rate them higher except that the North Face is hypocritical as a company. They bash the oil and gas industry yet almost 100% of their products include man-made fibers, which come from processing oil and natural gas. All of the 37 products that have some wool in them include man-made fibers. Almost all of the 63 products that contain cotton also include man-made fibers. The United States has reduced its per capital GHG emissions to 1960's levels because of responsible oil and gas production, and companies like the North Face should know that.
Quality construction but runs small in size. Non insulated
For the price, built very durable. I searched for a long time to find this color! Fit is great-room for layers.
Bought these Jan 2022 so have had them for 3 seasons (I ride 20-30 days per season). They replaced a pair of 90’s vintage Santa Cruz pants that I absolutely loved and held up for many, many years (in fact my son still wears them). Overall, I am satisfied with purchase considering I bought the from of the outlet at substantial discount (133). They have all the key features I want ( powder gaiter, thigh zips, water proof, wind proof, cargo pockets). My nits are (1) the fabric at hem frayed on first use or two and would have disintegrated but now I cuff them up when I’m wearing regular shoes, (2) waist button doesn’t hold by it self reliably so I wear belt all the time, (3) the front pockets are horizontal so makes it hard to get in there when sitting (but are super sucure - nothing is going fall out) (4) cargo pockets are weirdly deep and contexts hang below my knees which feels weird so I don’t really use them, (5) the north face logo is printed on and curved convex so it seems like it’s going to peel off eventually. As you can see all my nits are minor, cosmetic or related to body fit (5’9” 170lbs - bought size M). For discounted price I am satisfied but would not be happy at full price.
