I was very excited about this jacket as it had several features I needed: packable with pit-zips and a great hood. Alas, I was out for a hike in the woods in moderate rain last week and within an hour I saw the water seeping into the fabric of both sleeves. When I got back to my car, I noticed how the water had seeped in around the neck too. I will be returning because a rain jacket that is not waterproof is rather useless to me as an outdoor educator.
Zippers are high quality and it seems like the material will hold up well, although I expect I'll have to retreat it to maintain some waterproofing after a season or two. I am usually between a small and a medium - 5'9 130 lbs - long thin arms, long torso, small waist, big hips. Based on the measurements/size chart, I ordered a small. Even fully extended, the very bottom of the coat is maxed out over my hips. I could fit a light hoodie/sweater under if needed but it won't offer much mobility. I probably should've returned for a medium but I think it would've been too big elsewhere for me so I'm sticking with the small! On the small, the arms are the perfect length for me (which is longer than I'd expect for a small). The pit zips/vents and the hood on this coat are perfect. I am looking forward to using this for regularly walks with the dogs and hiking/camping
My daughter needed a reliable but affordable jacket for her D of E expedition. This jacket has served her well, still beading after heavy use and breathing well, especially with pit-zips. But packable and still comfy and smart enough for daily use including school! Ticks a lot of boxes- and that's hard to do for a teenage girl!!!!
Water resistant but not water proof for me. I am on a trip now using the jacket and the shoulder seams and back are wet.
Wore this for 10 days straight, usually with a 20L daypack on, while walking the Great Glen Way in Scotland. Lots of on/off, in and out of stuff pockets, and the coat still looks perfect. I'm 5'9" and weigh around 180#, and the large was a great size for a few good layers underneath but didn't feel like a tent.
Super useful, it managed the horizontal downpour of the west of Ireland perfectly. I’d highly recommend this raincoat as it’s easily packed down into its own pocket and fits in my kit bag. The colour is great, I don’t feel like a bright pink beacon!
The first time I wore this jacket in medium rain it leaked through my left shoulder. I will be returning it!
My loves the colorand functionality of this rain jacket. The only down side is the sleeves are excessive in length. The body of the jacket fits very nicely.
Bought this jacket for my cycle tour this year. I wanted a rain jacket that is versatile and I can use for different activities. It’s a great lightweight jacket that kept me dry during the trip. Love the pit zips that kept me cool during the ride. It’s also easily packable into its own pocket. It’s a great jacket that I also now wear around the city.
Bought the RAB Eco downpour for my walk on the Leeds Liverpool Canal. 127 miles over 7 days I wanted something I could rely on. Unfortunately this RAB jacket was very disappointing. The zip is constantly getting caught on the flap behind it and the cuffs do seem to retain water. However, a far more serious issue with this jacket is it’s lack of breathabity. In fact it is like being in a mobile sauna. I really feel so disappointed after all my research that it does not live up to all the claims made for it!
