Great style, but NOT waterproof

This jacket fit perfectly! It had enough room to layer over a puffy coat, with arms on the long side (which I love to make sure your other layers are covered), and the material was flexible enough to not feel restrictive, even under those several layers. The yellow color looked great in pics too! 5'6", 145lbs, 34b and the medium fit well. So, 5 stars for design and fit, but then....the very first time I wore this jacket, it was in a steady mist or barely there sprinkle, and the jacket was soaked within 15 minutes. I let it dry out and then tried it a few days later in the rain, and it instantly soaked through. It worked for the wind, but it's far from waterproof!

Rain jacket failed

Unfortunately this jacket failed instantly. I took it out on a backcountry trip and was pouring rain the first day. After about a half hour in the rain, the water started to seep through the right shoulder and all my clothes underneath were drenched. I was able to send it for a warranty check and get refunded but took a while are they are based over seas. This is the worst rain jacket I have owned. I have always been a big supporter of Rab and their products but I would stay away from this item

not waterproof

Not waterproof!!! It started leaking through after standing outside just a couple minutes in light rain mixed with snow. Very disappointed to have paid so much for this jacket to find out that its not even waterproof! I do like the color though. At least they got something right.

Stains

Stains easily and when I tried to return it to REI the women golf me to remove the stains before she'll accept the return. I washed the jacket and it didn't come out perfect like she wanted.

Excellent jacket for walking. I

Excellent jacket for walking. I took it out on its first trip up the pentlands and the weather turned wet and windy quite quickly as we climbed higher. I could have walked all day I was so protected but my companion didn’t have a Rab and got soaked through and chilled with the wind so we turned back. The fit is good, it gets a bit tighter around my hips but doesn’t impact being able to wear layers of other clothing. The zips at the armpits are a great feature when you get warm you can let some fresh air in, and then you can zip them back up as your body temp starts to drop. Overall great coat and looks good with jeans going out with the dog too. I look forward to wearing it lots!

Not waterproof, rain soaks through fabric

This jacket is not waterproof. The rain will not even bead on the top, it will start to soak through to your inner layers. Worn in humid but also dry climates and the same result happens. Don't buy this product, getting wet is not worth $200!

Tight pits!

RAB makes a fantastic product with attention to details that matter to people that spend time in the mountains. This jacket however missed the mark a bit and has very high armpits making the jacket feel very tight, and I'm very small. Everything else is great.

Waterproofing tape falling off

This jacket is used only for daily walks from 20-60 minutes. The inside tape (waterproofing tape?) is peeling off (see pics). It is also not waterproof. Except for the longer length and good fit, it has been disappointing.

Enjoying the longer length

Really nice fit over a thermal and vest (5'10, 150 lbs. size med). Living on the coast, I purchased this jacket to block wind on daily walks. The waterproofing is handy as Ca has had rain this winter :), This jacket run almost two inches longer than others (measures almost 29 inch in a medium). This was a huge plus as a tall woman. I miss internal pockets, but the two pockets are large. Bering Sea is a nice medium blue.
