I love this pack!!
This is Deuter’s ultralight pack that Outside Mag voted best product this year and I see why! It’s obviously a sleek and pretty pack but it’s also the ultra light pack deuter offers. I found it to be much more lightweight than their other packs but none of the features they cut weight on made the pack less functional in fact quite the opposite! The straps on the sides make it easy to carry a lot of volume on the outside of the pack which leaves room for everything else inside the pack. The mesh is extremely stretchy so you can shove everything in there if you’re lazy like me haha. I also loved how comfortable it is despite having less cushion than their traditional packs. Overall I can’t recommend this pack enough I take it everywhere!

Not for me
I was really excited about this pack but unfortunately it didn't work out for me. I have been backpacking for years with a Deuter aircontact lite 45+10, and I have also recently upgraded a lot of my backpacking gear to be ultralight and hoped I could cut a pound and a half of pack weight off with this new pack. The lumbar support is kind of a mound that peaks in the center of the pack, which for me put most of the weight of the pack on one spot on my lower back. I tried this loaded with 25 pounds on one 5 mile test hike, and concluded it wasn't comfortable enough to keep. I don't know if this was supposed to break in and then better distribute the weight across the entire lower back? I love the lumbar support on my air contact lite, and I never expected this lighter bag to be as comfortable, but I think this bag would benefit from support pads on each side rather than one main one in the middle. I think this could be done without adding weight. One other issue of lesser importance, the main 45L compartment of this bag is definitely smaller than the main 45L compartment of the aircontact lite. I would estimate it is closer to 40L if the air contact lite is 45.

Deuter Aircontact Ultra Women's Backpack!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The lightweight Deuter Aircontact Ultra 45 + 5 SL women's backpack in sienna-paprika color, is made with bluesign certified, PFC-free polyester body fabric, and includes an SOS label, which expertly balances comfort and weight so that I can devote more energy to the trail ahead. Moreover, it is covered in Air Spacer mesh, which performs three functions in one to save weight: comfort, cushioning and ventilation. The innovative Clip & Loop back-length adjustment offers a tailored, comfortable fit. It consists of load-adjustment straps at shoulders and the expandable 5-liter pack collar adds optional volume expansion when I need it. The Mobile VariFlex ECL hip fins and an ergonomic lumbar pad distribute weight effectively. The VariFlex articulated hip fins pivot to respond flexibly to my movements. The hardwearing ripstop body fabric made from performance fibers is built to withstand the rigors of long-distance hiking. The pull-forward construction makes the hipbelt easy to fasten and tighten, even with heavier loads. The hipbelt includes dual stretch mesh zippered pockets. The side compression straps lets me regulate pack volume, and the modular gear straps lets me attach a sleeping pad or tent, or to compress the load in the base of the pack. The gear loops on the front and shoulder straps allow me to secure a GPS, map case or other essentials which I need to attach to the backpack. This backpack also includes elastic mesh side pockets, a large front stretch pocket, zippered top pocket and internal valuables pocket. The height-adjustable lid is removable. The inner stretch compartment is ideal for storing wet/sweaty clothing or a hydration reservoir, as the pack is compatible with hydration reservoirs. Moreover, the sienna-paprika color is super attractive and this backpack is sure the heartthrob of millions. I feel proud to be the owner of such an amazing backpack. I have already recommended the Deuter Aircontact Ultra 45 + 5 SL women's backpack in sienna-paprika color to many of my friends and family and several of them have already purchased and used it, and they all love the amazing features of this backpack as all of us know this backpack is a must for all avid hikers, as it makes carrying all hiking essentials a breeze.

Amazing Hiking Backpack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Aircontact Ultra 45+5 SL Backpack is perfect for hiking. It is also very lightweight and has ventilation. There are many pockets for storing everything you need during your hike. It has cushioning that makes it comfortable to wear, as well as SL hip fins that mold to your hips.

Awesome ultralight style-pack with added comfort

This is an excellent, slim-profile overnight backpack for the small-framed woman looking for a comfortable, supportive pack. If you're looking for an ultralight-style pack with the cush and comfort of a traditional pack, this is for you. My one complaint is that I felt it was an awkward size for my personal overnight uses, but for those looking in this size range, it is a great, high quality pack. Deuter also has excellent environmental standards, which should be noted!

Comfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pack was super comfy on my 2 day hike. I was able to carry the following, small toiletry bag, two sets of clothes, small pillow, small sleeping bag and food. I loved the inner pocked of the main pack as I was able to keep things organized. The waist strap was comfortable and I was able to put my phone and keys in those side pockets, which was very convenient. The top pocket on the top I kept my energy bars for a quick bite. The straps were padded perfectly. I had no rubbing and no irritation while wearing even through sweat and a light rain! I am super impressed and can’t wait to go again!

Worked great on the trails!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasted no time using this pack on my recent hikes. It’s super lightweight, easy to adjust, extremely roomy, comfortable to wear and the color is a unique beautiful orange/(sienna/paprika). The lumbar pad was highly effective in redistributing weight. Not major but my only gripe is that the air contact back system didn’t do the best job at minimizing sweat and dampness. I realize it’s been a very hot & humid summer so I look forward to testing out that feature in cooler weather conditions during an upcoming fall hike. Happy adventures all!

The material is very comfortable as well. It seems to be made of high quality with great stitching and materials. This would be perfect for anyone needing something like this for hiking. Look no further! Really!

Great pack!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Deuter Aircontact Ultra is an awesome pack! High quality, durable, and the perfect size for me. I’ve been wanting a hiking pack for awhile, and I’m so glad I held out for this one. The color is beautiful, too. It holds everything I need for a hike and is very comfortable and well structured. Definitely recommend!
