Zamberlan makes quality hiking boots & I have owned a pair before these. They fit right out of the box & they performed well in my first short hike. After a couple of weeks I wore them on an 11 mile 2000 ft gain hike in the Mt. Rose Wilderness & yes, my feet were tired—still no blisters. My recommendation to Zamberlan is to make the toe more rounded as our feet aren’t pointed. Add a little more to the vibram sole, a touch more cushion & just a tad of cushion wear someone might have a bunion & then they will be perfect. Thank you for making this light weight boot. I will be wearing them on my adventure in Patagonia this November.
I bought these boots in hopes I wouldn’t get blisters and they would be comfortable as I hiked the Appalachian trail through Georgia. Other boots always gave me blisters. I was not disappointed with these boots. They are very comfortable, light weight and I did not get any blisters. Most of my mileage through Georgia was 10-12 miles per day, I had two 14+ days. My feet were hurting then. But it is the AT with its rocks and roots. We even hiked through some rain storms. One day the heavens opened up and poured down on us. My boots were wet on the inside, but I’m not sure if it came in from the top through my socks. Other days it rained, my feet stayed dry. I will buy these boots again.
These shoes were pretty comfortable right out of the box. Wide toe box, easy to put on. The material immediately got really dirty so looked worn from day 2. My biggest problem with them is that they didn't stay waterproof. Within 6 months dust and water was coming in around the toe box. Wore then yesterday in some wet grass and my socks were soaked. I don't understand how shoes this expensive can't last at least a year without breaking down.
I have low volume and more on the narrow side feet - size women's 43 euro/11 USA - which is a very hard shoe to find. These checked all my boxes: hiking boots that fit without stuffing in a bunch of insoles, don't allow my feet to slide forward and get toe jam, are preferably lightweight, and not horrible unattractive (I prefer neutral colour palettes and many women's are pink/turquoise etc). I got the sage and they are very neutral, not really green and appear more khaki once they get a bit dirty. I would disagree with the other person that said they don't go with anything (huh? neutral goes with everything) - and also I personally find the black border is a great optical illusion that minimizes my foot size appearance which I appreciate. I bought these back and June and so far I am in love with these - debating buying a second pair as a back-up in case they change/discontinue these since it took me about 10 years and trying on 100's of boots to find these.
These are the best boots I've ever worn I had ankle reconstruction surgery 9 months ago and my ankle didn't hurt or swell while hiking in Bryce and Zion the past week. They also kept my feet dry while it rained and snowed. They are extremely comfortable and gave me the support I needed.
I bought 2 pair - the green and the yellow. I then had to decide on which to keep. I purchased 1/2 size larger so to make sure I had enough toe space. You may need to do this if you like things a little looser. These are not flexible shoes. That was perfect. I can still fit a larger sock in and have my toes with some room. The quality of these shoes is super. I like the support for my ankles. Most of my other shoes are lower cut. I have ordered a memory foam insole from their website just in case I want a little more cushion. I thought for 2 days about which color to keep and which to return. I decided to keep the green as they go with more things but I still really love the yellow. I had worried if it would be too yellow but it's not at all - it's not lemon yellow as it looks in some of the photos but rather a golden yellow like one of the images which I'll attach. These - both colors - are great colors - so much better than many of the mismatched multicolors used on many of the shoes today.
These boots are gorgeous (yellow). Like walking on air right out of the box. Anxious to see how easy the suede-effect microfiber is to keep clean and keep looking good, and if the Gore-Tex waterproofing is effective. Right now I am in love with these boots!
Nice boot but narrow. Wish they made these in a wide because these are so lightweight and very well made. I just have wide feet and I tried to make them work but had to end up returning
My feet are rather wide but have a narrow-ish heel, and these seem to fit well. The footbed of these boots also seems cushioned enough to be comfortable on uneven surfaces. However, these boots are very olive green, and just don't go with any of my hiking clothes. I wear size 10, and these did nothing to make my feet look smaller. In fact, with the very black toe and heel, I felt like I was wearing clown shoes. I decided that if I'm going to pay so much for boots, I want to like how they look. I wish these came in a neutral color!
I ordered the Circe 334 and then the Evo Lite. The Circe wraps around the feet really nicely. It feels more like a hiking sneaker. I ton of support and well made. The reason I went with the Evo Lite in the end was because of durability. I will be hiking in NC and with wet conditions, and the fact that I am rough on boots, I feel the nubuck leather will hold up better. If you want a high quality hiking boot, depending on your needs both boots are excellent.
