Slick and small
This multi-faceted bike tool will help you lighten your load. It offers some unique tools that are good to have when off the beaten path, and will help you fix catastrophic failures like a busted chain. The bits are a bit difficult to grab, but the right angle pivoting holder is really slick and allows good reach and good torque. Feels solid, except for the main pieces which could sit a bit more snug to one another. I like the storage for a speed link too, as well as the opportunity to stack tools. Would like to see other tools that offer less duplication and more variety as a result, as well as more bits for Torx, Philips etc, and maybe a set of pliers.
Impressive Bike Tool
Purchased to go with a few other Wolf Tooth parts on my bike. It's extremely well made, functional and useful. I've already used it to install pedal pins, adjust cleats, install a new seat, and make other adjustments. Pretty cool hardware, should certainly last and they really put thought into the design. Magnets lock it closed, hold all the bits internally and are all the sizes needed. Not the cheapest option, but you get what you pay for.
Almost perfect...almost...
I have the 8-bit Two kit which is made of of three main pieces. While I really, really, really want to love this piece, there are some inherent design flaws that I think, with updating, will make this THE perfect bike tool. Yes, the whole thing is a bit heavy but it really has everything you could possibly want or need 1). The magnets that hold everything together, i.e. all three different main tools, could be stronger. In current model, they're a bit weak and the piece rattles a bit and worse, sometimes comes apart in my frame bag when riding. 2). On the main unit, access to the bits could be redesigned. As of now, there is one vertical access hole that allows you to push out one bit in order to access the others. Problem is, access to the others is nearly impossible. If fingers are cold or wet, this could result in ejecting the wrong bit(s) and losing it/them. Instead, there should be two horizontal access holes, one under each row of bits. And finally 3). The master link/chain pliers should be redesigned to be more like real pliers that come together but also act as the intended chain link plier. I tried reaching out to customer service via email but whomever was replying to me didn't seem all that interested in customer feedback to help improve v2, which is a shame.
