I swapped out the stock plastic Bontrager pedals on my Trek Allant+ 7S+ Gen 2 for the Race Face Aeffect R pedals, and the difference was immediate. The larger surface area and superior grip make every ride feel more stable and controlled. They’re also slimmer in profile than the originals, which really helped with crank extension as a taller rider. The build quality is outstanding—I was honestly shocked at how high quality they feel compared to stock. They’re more comfortable on longer rides and make the bike feel much more refined overall. Just a heads up: the pedals don’t include washers, so you’ll need to use the ones from your bike or have a set on hand. I also recommend applying a little anti-seize or grease during installation and torquing them down properly (around 35–40 Nm, or 26–30 ft-lb) for a secure, long-lasting fit. If you’re still running the stock pedals, these are absolutely worth the upgrade.
Really solid feal and I love the dimensions to get a really good foothold.
