Car camping cornerstone
This stove is heavy and too bulky for real backpacking, but it packs a punch in BTU’s on the table at a picnic place or at your Tailgater. It will boil a half liter of water in 6 minutes at 7 C, and can simmer or boil easily. The removable burner rings allow easy cleanup after that bacon and eggs breakfast. The cast-iron rings help with heat distribution and give a stable base for small and large cook-pots. The zippered case makes transport and storage easy, and the separate pocket for the fuel-pipe (and a lighter - more on that later) is a really nice touch. The knobs allow easy regulation of gas flow, and a built in igniter is, while standard on most drives, still a nice feature. On the other hand, the burners are a bit small for larger cast-iron pans (I have a 14” I used for testing), though the are perfect for a kettle of water or a 8” fry pan. The stove can be used with both burners, but in colder temps (<10C) this will overtax the 1lb gas bottle. Fine tuning the flame takes some practice as it is hard to see in daylight. The flame ring distributes the flame me well in the center zone. I do miss the wind-guards you could create out of life and side-shields on the old liquid fuel Coleman’s. In be a windy climate like Illinois that feature would be a real boon! The stove worked well for the three weeks I tested it, but the igniter on the right burner was not 100% reliable - hence the lighter. Perhaps Coleman will optimize this feature. Unboxing was a easy and pretty intuitive, though taking the stove out of the case before use was not well communicated - especially as the case makes a nice smaller wind wind-break.
Easy To Cook With
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Coleman burner stove makes cooking while camping so much easier for us. It doesn't take up a lot of space compared to what we've been using. It comes in a carrying case and it only weighs 12 lbs. This stove also has a rotary ignition making it easier to turn on. We also didn't experience any problems while cooking with it. I personally love that we can use this stove during emergencies, outdoors only of course, if the power ever goes. out.
Low Quality
We can’t recommend this product. Especially not if you are looking for something premium. Almost impossible cooking on both stove (gas pressure from the gas bottles might not high enough, tried everything here) after a couple of usages the paint around the burner starts falling off. Temperature resistance seems insufficient. All in all… low satisfaction and started warranty claim with Coleman directly. Hint: REI service is for “non members” available for only 90 days. Let’s see were this goes…
Nice camp stove if it would ignite!
I recently (6 weeks ago) purchased a Coleman PEAK1 two burner camp stove. I have only used my stove on two trips and am disappointed that the right side burner will not ignite. After reading some reviews on this page, I see that this seems to be a common Issue. Dear Coleman customer service, please provide some advice and assistance on this known issue. On a positive note, Coleman have designed a functional, easy to clean and stylish camp stove neatly packed in a smart protective carrying case.

Amazing product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 20,000 BTU two burner stove is incredible. The quality is amazing, it is heavy duty and made to withstand outdoor elements. Even the carrying case is extremely well made and durable. The burners cook evenly and are designed with additional flame holes for faster cooking. It is cast iron friendly. It heats my cast iron quickly and evenly. There is ample space for 2 large pots or pans. It’s very easy to ignite and use and super simple to clean up too. If you’re looking for a camping stove that will last you through the years, this is the one!
Good for large pots
Trip got canceled so could not use while camping but have been cooking in the backyard because it has been so nice out. Fits on my camp table really well though. Really simple operation and the flame control is good. At first I thought that the lack of wind protection would be a problem but the flame is really strong and did not go out in average breezes, though I have not experienced a very windy day. Without the wind wings like a standard camp stove it allows for large pots which is nice. It is heavier than it looks. Easy enough to clean with a wet kitchen sponge
Nice and Weird, Expensive and Good Looking
I agree with other that: 1) it is not cast iron, but painted, and it chips easily; 2) the logotypes and text smear off easily with oil and grease; but also that I either received a defective stove or a defective regulator because it chokes either a few minutes into cooking and immediately and banging the regulator seems to help, but then if I only use one burner and then turn on the other, the first one shuts off, then if I use both and then turn one off but come back to both, the same, one shuts off. Also, the anti spill ridge is nice but the spill still gets into the holes for the grates. It is very nice that it is not like a camping stove and it is HEAVY, which is nice.
The Best Stove Ever!
I have to agree with the majority of the people that have rated this stove anyone else was rated at less than five stars absolutely has no clue what they're doing. I have wiped mine down repeatedly with all kinds of cleaners etc the finish on this product is second to none it's well applied powder coat and it is solid and I mean solid is not cheap tinsy little metal like some of these old camp kitchens. I especially love the burners cooking in the wind they've held up beautifully I'm able to boil water at no time at all and the heat that's produced by those burners is fantastic it's the last stove I think I'll ever buy I've got a trailer and I've got a Jeep and it's going in both of them!
So Easy To Use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This two burner stove is super easy to use. I used this stove on my camping trip and it worked so well. It was easy to turn on and everything worked perfectly. The stove itself is very lightweight and I totally love the stylish case that it comes with. It evenly cooks the food really well, and it made my camping trip such a great success.
Fabulous Stove - Old Favorite Made Even Better
Many of us have fond memories of spending time with friends and family cooking over a Coleman stove while camping, and the PEAL1 takes the Coleman stove to a new level. It's compact, simple to use, easy to clean, and even has a built in carry handle. What's not to love. The removable pot supports work great, and this stove seems to cook more evenly than other stoves. I think this stove was the envy of others in Colorado camping areas. Overall, well done, Coleman.
