I LOVED these boots, for about 8 days

These are super comfortable right out of the box. I didn't even think about adding my own inserts. The boots look great, they are super light, and they come with an extra set of laces so you can choose which color you like. I am a solid 7.5, and the 7.5 I ordered fit me perfectly. After the first day I wore them into the office, I noticed an ugly scuff on the ankle, presumably from my office chair (?). I still loved them so much for comfort, support, cushion. I only wore them to work (not hiking or walking the dog-- I have other shoes for those activities). Then the toes got scuffed and turned a much lighter color. I thought it was okay, even though they looked pretty scuffed after only a few indoor wears. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I noticed that the scalloped edges of the lace kiltie had dug grooves into the leather. Now there are dry scuffs and marks all over the shoe, but I've only worn them (to the office only) 6 or 7 times. I can understand soemthing hard (plastic, metal, wood) making marks like this on leather, but the softness of this leather is problematic. I bought these one sale, but I would expect them to be MUCH more durable even for the sale price. I will be returning these and looking for boots of higher quality leather (or of the same quality at a much lower price point).

Classy lumberjill boots!

Gorgeous boot. Super-comfortable right out of the box. Love wearing them for work on casual days, or for outdoor activities. Only (minor!) negative is that the toes are a bit more lightly colored and more sensitive to visible scuffing (which takes quite little to happen) than the rest of the boot.

Good boots, too masculine for me

I’m sure they’re very good boots. I ordered an eight and I am about 50-50 eight or 8 1/2. The eight was too small so I was going to send them back for size. The style was a little more masculine than I was looking for. I return them to the REI and opted for some Blundstones. They seem to be a better fit for my need. I’m sure these Danners would have made good work boots. The foot bed felt very comfortable.

Good looking and comfortable boots.

Immediately comfortable. I purchased these boots primarily for city walking during the cooler seasons of the year. I’ll have to double back to report on late fall, winter and early spring experiences but as of today I’m very pleased with these boots.
