Pro: The cushion seems good after a whole day of wear (walking). Feels wide enough for my feet. Cons: The upper does not keep the elements out. You will feel the outside temperature right away. This might be a better summer shoe? Would have preferred some water resistance on top, especially toe area. They are not slip resistant at all, which I really needed. The color is not as neutral or nice in person. Would prefer a neutral color shoe lace option. I only walked in these so the heel felt deep/ off to me. Would return them if I could. Would return them if I could. Also, I sized down half a size as per the reviews and they fit correctly.
Hey, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We often adjust our products based on direct customer feedback. We will make sure to pass this along to our designers for consideration in future products.
I really like cushion, especially when I am on flat or non-technical trails. The rocker in the shoe does a great job of propelling you forward and the regular lacing system helps keep my narrow heal in place.
This is probably the 12th pair of Salomon I have purchased for my family. These are for me. I have put together a new wardrobe to coordinate with these! No, not the athlete the other uses talk about being anymore, though I sure feel stronger and more mobile in these Pulsar Trails! It is because I am recovering from some serious injuries that my shoe being well balanced, cushioned and stable is of the utmost importance and these best fit the bill! I have 4 pairs of Salomon lined up at the door for me and these are my favorites! Thank you for making such well balanced easy to move in shoes! I am no longer in any danger of being left behind!
Extremely comfortable shoe with a lot of cushion. Very responsive and grippy. And did I mention the awesome color scheme?
Was not expecting to love this shoe nearly as much as I do, and from the first mile! So light, responsive, and great grip. It’s been my go-to on dusty gravel trail, steep trail, rolling singletrack, technical and rocky trails, boulder hopping, muddy trails and water crossings, you name it. I’ve logged 4 mile runs up to 16 miles, totaling about 150 in the past few weeks and haven’t had a single issue. It’s great for everything from speed work to long days in the mountains, I highly recommend.
I will start by saying I've had multiple pairs of Salomon shoes over the years and have generally been happy with them and their durability. These did not last tho. After only about 30 miles in them the soles are peeling off. Because of how they're peeling they're no longer comfortable to walk in and trip me up. For the price it's a total bummer. Would have expected to have gotten more than a few uses out of them. I have other shoes that have hundreds of miles and are still great.

This is the 3rd Salomon shoe I have bought and loved. I bought the first pair in Mexico immediately before traveling to Peru where I walked a lot (including to Machu Pichu). I did not have any time to test or break these shoes in and they were so comfortable right out of the box that I have been hiking in Salomons ever since. On this pair, the pocket where you tuck in the laces is underneath the top laces making it tricky to get the little plastic thing in the pocket w/o loosening the laces. Otherwise, these are great. The pair I bought right before these did not fit quite right but the return was easy.
I do admit that I have been a skeptic of some of the newer shoe technology that companies have been developing, but after putting some miles in the Pulsar Trail I am a believer. I wear a wide range of Salomon shoes from the Speed Cross to the Ultra Glide and the Pulsar Trail felt very familiar to me. I have used the shoe on a variety of terrain, from technical trails that require protection/grip to dirt roads and it has continued to prove its versatility. I am impressed with how light and nimble it feels and I like my other Salomon shoes I feel confident in it given how it fits and performs. I look forward to continuing to test this shoe while learning more about the technology behind it.
I love the Pulsars - they’re the most comfortable trail shoes I own (and I own a lot). They’re great -and I’ve used them- for anything from an easy 5km trail to a technical 50km. The only thing I really wish they had was the sock fit at the top that the Pulsar Pros have, but I unfortunately don’t find the upper of the Pulsar Pro to be nearly as comfortable as the Pulsar. I also like the Ultra Glide, but don’t find them quite as good on technical trails as the Pulsars and a little less roomy in the toe box. My first pair of Pulsars have about 600km on them now so I've just bought a second pair.
Out of the box, these shoes feel so comfortable and snappy. They have such a great mix of cushion and speed for trails. These will probably be my new everyday running shoe!
