Cord "eyelets" the Achilles heel

If I'd written this yesterday at 14 months in, I'd have given it five stars. As with the many other Asolo shoes and boots I've worn, fit and comfort have been stellar. These boots are incredibly lightweight yet offer good protection. Tread and waterproofing, the usual death knell for my hiking boots, are looking to get me through several months. The "but" part is the breaking of the top lace eyelet. I'm sure it takes more stress despite my usual overhand knot on the way to the top hook, but that piece is pretty critical for holding my foot in place. Yes, they use cord for these eyelets, and the other three are also showing fraying. You might then be surprised that I do not regret buying these. Much better support than the more fashionable hiking shoes but light and comfortable enough to be the right choice for lots of rough trail miles.

Very comfortable, terrible craftsmanship!

As the previous reviewer stated, The cord eyelet frayed and broke on both of my boots and they were less than 6 months old. I have basically brand new boots. Asolo won't warranty them. $200.00 down the drain, iI will never buy Asolo again! Don't waste your hard earned money!
