Very Versatile!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this duffel as a birthday present and it has been the best gift! I use it for weekend trips and for hiking. The divider that comes with the bag is a nice touch! I didn't think I'd use it but it might be one of my favorite pieces. It's a great carry-on for flights that fits easily in the overhead compartment. I also use it a lot for hiking. I took out the water pack from my Camelback and put it at the bottom and used the divider to keep everything else off of it and ran the tube through the top zipper. It was a HUGE benefit to not have to carry multiple backpacks for my wife and I. It's also very comfortable to carry as a backpack.

I would buy this product again and again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 32L is a perfect size for carry-one for plane trips, for a quick weekend getaway. I love you can be us it as a duffel bag or a back bag & when it's not in use you can fold it down to put it away.

Awesome for airline travel!! Does not fit 16" MBP.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this bag for airline travel. It is smaller than the S Base Camp Duffel, so it fits perfectly under the seat in front of you on the plane. The laptop compartment is also excellent for quick access to your laptop when going thru security at the airport. Much better suited overall for airline travel than the standard Base Camp Duffel. However, the laptop compartment was clearly sized for a 15" MacBook Pro, and my 16" MacBook Pro (the new standard size) doesn't fit thru the zipper. I can force it if I really try, but it really requires some force and feels like it will cause the seam or zipper to fail eventually. Besides that, I am loving the bag.

Perfect for urban and adventure travel

Highly recommend! I got this bag for a 2 week international trip where we moved hotels every 1-2 days. The numerous internal and external pockets (plus REI’s packing cubes) helped me stay organized and fit everything I needed for a trip with biking, hiking, and water activities. The backpack straps made it easy and comfortable to carry. Also the bag was lost with airlines for a week and returned to me unscathed and the wine bottle inside unbroken. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This duffle seems very durable. There's lots of nice features including backpack straps (if you plan to use them), laptop sleeve, two side pockets, and a mesh pocket on the inside. However, I found it to be very stiff, heavy, and cumbersome. The entire duffle comes neatly folded in one of the side pockets but good luck getting it back in there once you've taken it out. The inside partition is a flimsy little pad that has some annoying toggle buttons to secure. I also found some stitching issues with my bag the day I received it so make sure you check the seams of your bag carefully!

Buckle is already broken 1 no in

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this bag. It was exactly what I was looking for for my gym bag. It can hold my entire office outfit for the day, plus shoes, toiletries, laptop, etc. and not too heavy when I go to pick it up! The duffel opening makes it so easy to get things in and out. My biggest complaint is the buckles for the straps. A reviewer before me said they looked fragile because they're plastic and sure enough one of mine is already broken even tho I've only had this bag for a month. The plastic on the other one already looks stressed too, like it may break at any moment. I'm disappointed and just waiting for them to give and then my whole purchase will have been a waste because it will not be usable at that point. I don't get why these wouldn't have been made of sturdier plastic or metal! Then it would be the perfect bag.

Good product! will buy again if I have to.

The product came in a small package, I didn't know that it can fold that small which is good when you need to store it somewhere after using it. The bag has good quality material. It is big enough to put up to 4 days worth of clothes and other things for travel. The strap for the back pack can be hidden if you are not using it. It can hurt your back if you are carrying it as a back pack and you put a lot of stuff it it, Would be good if there is a belt below to strap on your waist to support the heavy bag when it is full. I used it a carry on luggage so we did not have to check it in.

Could be made better with one minor tweak

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was between this bag and the Patagonia black hole in the similar size. After some back and forth, I pulled the trigger on this bag because of the laptop sleeve. I've used this bag for a few camping trips already and plan to use it again tomorrow for a short two night trip. Upon unboxing this bag, I was struck by the beautiful color and the small size it was rolled into (it's own bag!). It was easy to unpack and I love the variety of pockets that are included. The detachable/customizable divider is also great, as it can be put into the bag in a few different ways and laid down for storage, or if it's not needed. This bag is easy to pack, adjusts to size based on how you fill it, and the number of handles on it make it super easy and convenient to pick up and throw around in any number of ways. My only complaint about this bag is that the backpack straps tuck into the top of it, so when it's empty and you're trying to pack it up, the lid forces the whole bag to fall over, rather than sitting flat while you pack.

The Ultimate Duffel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's no question that The North Face makes incredible products, but this bag takes it to the next level. We were preparing for a sailing trip around the BVI and needed a duffel bag. The amazing team at TNF in Charlotte (shout out to Terrell and Alicia) introduced us to the base camp voyager and it was love at first sight. My husband was able to pack a week's worth of clothes and then some. The compartments came in handy when organizing items which was crucial as we were living our of our bags. Even at capacity the bag fit comfortably on both of our backs (I'm 5'3" and he is 6'1"). If you are in the market for a new duffel, this bag is a must.

Minor issue, otherwise great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was torn between this bag and the similarly sized one from Patagonia. After going back and forth, I decided on this one because of the laptop sleeve which I feel would really come in handy. Upon receiving this, I was surprised by how small it can fold up into itself, even with the fairly firm backpack straps. However, I haven't been able to get it back into that shape again, though I'm sure that I could with the help of YouTube. I have taken this on two trips so far and love the variety of ways you can carry it/pick it up, which makes dealing with it super easy. The divider inside is also really great because it is soft and detachable. You can place it in two different locations, or lay it down flat to store it. You can cram this thing full without struggle. The only thing I don't like about this bag is that because the backpack straps tuck into the top of the bag, the top is very heavy and will tip the bag over unless it is completely full. So when you are packing your bag, it is slightly annoying... I wish the straps were on the bottom. Otherwise, great bag!
