Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches.
Measure hand circumference: Measure around your dominant hand at the knuckles with fingers together; do not include your thumb. Measure hand length: Measure from the crease at the base of your palm to the end of your middle finger. Use the larger of the two measurements to select your glove size.

Bad Stitching
They fit well and the fabric itself is nice but the stitching is coming undone and I only used them about 10 times
Lightweight, cool
True to size. I've had my sun gloves 1.5 years and have used them a lot! They are still intact. They are dirty and stained but that's to be expected. Light weight and cool. Great for hiking and backpacking. I also use them for mountaineering on warmer days and love the protection especially when the sun is glaring off the snow. After wearing them for extended periods while using them with poles, I can get hot spots and rubbing where the seams on my thumbs are. I am sometimes able to move the seams and get them to stay but sometimes just put up with it for the sun protection it provides.
Undone.
Was hoping these would be a good addition to my desert hiking. The size seemed to be fine, gave good coverage of the hands and fingers. But the stitching on the left glove came undone barely 15 min into my first hike with them.
Sun protection and palm protection!
I am very happy with these (in REI's grey color). I was just on a ship (bright sun!) where other people were wearing white ones and after trying them decided I needed a pair for my next trip. REI sells white, too, but I really liked the grey-green, which would hold up to the grime of backpacking better. I just wore them for 3 days in the woods and enjoyed the feel on my poles. Like all fingerless gloves, you need to pull them off one finger at a time, but I rarely took them off since they dry instantly anyway. If I lost them tomorrow I'd order another pair immediately.
Marriage of sun protection and durability
These are fairly heavy-duty sun gloves. I had a previous version which were thinner nylon, and after 2 years are pretty beat up (but still functional in terms of sun protection). The fingers are longer on these, so for an average woman they come up to the top knuckle, exposing only the last joint. So far the dexterity is fine. I hope with the thicker palm I don't feel they are too hot; I can see they need some reinforcement there, but I might be fine with buying a pair of thinner gloves every season if it means feeling cooler...
Sun Gloves to protect your skin
I wear Sun Gloves when hiking and backpacking, and also wear a hat, long sleeve shirt, and long pants. This is to protect my skin and to avert melanoma or other skin cancers. A friend had skin cancer removed from the back of their hands. Four star rating because I don't know how durable these gloves will be. My other sun gloves have lasted 1 to 3 years before getting holes and bad stains. The dark color "Mountain Cracks Sage Gray" won't show dirt as much as lighter colors. Despite washing my other silver and my tan sun gloves repeatedly, they still were stained with trail dirt. Fit is slim so you might need to go 1 or 2 sizes bigger than usual. The fingers and the wrist cuffs are longer on these gloves than on many others, so they'll cover more of your skin but might also cover your wrist watch or might be too hot.
Love the extra length
Great gloves. I love the added length up the wrist, especially for driving. Size chart is off. My hand widths are 8.5 & 8.75 & I bought a L, my usual glove size, & they fit great.
Slippery palms
I really hoped these gloves would work with trekking poles, but the material on the palms is very slippery. Two stars for a comfortable 3/4th length glove, minus two stars for non-grippy palm, minus one star for no loops or attachment points to secure gloves to something else when not wearing. I wish REI would make a grippier version of these!
A must-have for desert fieldwork
I get bad sun reactions on all exposed skin when I'm doing fieldwork in the high desert, even with sunscreen. I used to wear mittens or gloves to protect my hands from itchy-oozy sun rashes. These gloves are a game-changer. They're comfortable, easy to clean, and allow me to write field notes and collect samples and climb rocks with ease. I also recommend these for kayaking or boating or any activity where your hands cannot be put into pockets, and you have to have dexterity.
Great fitting fingerless gloves
Fits really well around my hands, as I purchased an XS. I have glove from other companies and they don't fit as snugly and it's highly uncomfortable when they are baggy and don't cover the wrists. I also really like the grey sueded grip on the thumb and forefingers. Gloves get so dirty and it's nice not to see the dirt as quickly. Also, well priced for quality product. Hopefully, will keep the shape after many washings.
