So versatile!
This windbreaker doesn't come in women's 3X so I purchased the men's 2X instead. This works for me even though the sleeves are too long (as expected). I typically keep my sleeves pushed up to 3/4 length anyway. The construction of this garment is sturdy & very well made, the material is as light as a whisper, & the color options are so much fun. The anorak style makes this a great travel piece as the zippered pocket keeps necessities secure...in my case, this eliminates the need for a purse. This zippered pocket also is the stuff sack when it is time to stow this windbreaker away. I really love this thing...I just wish they made a women's 3X.
Great field work windbreaker
Bought this before a week long trip to describe soils in Oklahoma (think thorns, barbed wire, and sharp rocks) when winds were kicking up to 45-50mph and temps ranged from 25-75. I needed something I could put on over everything to protect me from the wind, light rain, sun, and the whipping sands. It worked wonderfully and even survived a rough brush with fresh and sharp barbed wire.
Good but rips easily
It's the perfect weight for fending off the windchill from biking on those early fall/late spring mornings that aren't chilly enough for a sweatshirt. Literally my only complaint is that the fabric seems to rip easily. One time I put my hands in the pockets apparently a little too vigorously, and the material ripped about half an inch up from the bottom edge of the pocket. It didn't even rip along a seam. I've never had this problem with Cotopaxi clothing before, so I was pretty disappointed. It's a nice enough windbreaker that I'm going to repair it, but it definitely loses a star.
Looks and works fabulous
I have several pieces of Cotopaxi gear and all were purchased with my own money. I wear this piece to the beaches and hiking in the hills around San Diego, CA and it is a solid piece of kit. Soft polyester that doesn't feel overly garbage bag-y but doesn't breath as well as the Patagonia Houdini. A moisture wicking shirt or baselayer will help a lot in this department. There is also a vent at the pack to help dump heat and moisture. The Teca is very lightweight, thin, and packable just like the Houdini. The material is also on the louder side of synthetic fabrics. YKK Vislon zipper at the half zip is smooth and sturdy. The cover over the kangaroo pouch zip is stiffened or doubled over to reduce snagging on that YKK zipper as well. The anorak style and pocket on the Teca is very welcome and lets me carry more things than just a chapstick in the oft too-small-to-use-anyway chest pocket of many windbreakers (Patagonia Houdini) like snacks and a small camera. The elastic binding around the hem and cuffs is stretchy and well stitched. The cuffs function well at keeping gusts out but not as well as others. Seams are not stitched flat but lay flat and are not uncomfortable. Mobility is great and the hem hugs the body for the little ride it does take upwards if you stretch your arms up. The Teca cuts wind very well as one might hope and is very resistant to mist and light drizzles. It will wet out relatively quickly and isn't designed for sustained exposure to rain. The colorways are fantastic if you like bold and bright. I have the "Sea Salt" and love how it slips in with my existing wardrobe. I am 5'10, 165lbs and the medium fits extremely well. It's not too box-y and not quite as slim fitting as the Houdini. Overall, the Teca does what it advertises and looks very good doing it. If you like bold colors and functional kit, I don't think you will be disappointed with this windbreaker.
Teca Half-Zip Windbreaker
This pullover windbreaker is just what I needed it to be: no frills, functional, and lightweight. I bought this for cooler runs in light rain. It's not as breathable as I'd hoped but it's functional. The pockets and zippered pouch are an added bonus. I'm 6'4" and ordered an XL. The fit is spot on.
Super duper light
Weighs almost nothing really and folds small (as big as its internal pocket) and you can fold that in half again, compress out the air and it will fit into most of Cotopaxi's waist packs and pouches. I've machine washed them many times and air dried fine, the water repellency still works. I got 2 on rotation and 1 each for the men in my household. They normally like solid single colors but don't seem to mind the mish mash of colors on these. They also make great gifts because they fold small and won't use much wrapping paper. Though thin, the material does an excellent job in keeping both rain and wind out. A tip: buy 1-2 sizes bigger if you often carry day packs so they can also cover them in a jiffy.
This isn’t your Mama’s windbreaker (But it could be!!)
I absolutely love my new Teca Half-Zip Windbreaker! It is so light and can fit into my cargo pocket of my shorts. This windbreaker is perfect when it is windy, and in season/climate changing seasons, and of course this windbreaker will keep you dry.
Better than I thought.
Light weight. Large zipper makes it easy to put one with cada dia hat on. Really cuts down the wind. Especially at 40 degrees and windy as we experienced in SA, TX. Easy to store in my work bag pocket. Recommend this product!
Almost does the job.
as a windbreaker it is perfect due to its lightweight and ability to roll into a ball and place behind your cycling jersey. As a water proof barrier it is a 7/10 because it does repell water but not for long. As soon as you have had enough sprinkles on you it starts to get inside and you can feel it on your arms etc.
