This is a very sturdy bag, feels like it'll last a lifetime. If you're looking for a hybrid outdoor/commuter/traveling bag, it's prefect. It doesn't have internal pockets but, the external ones are versatile. It has a unique zippered side pocket, along with another mesh open pocket on the other side. The zippered one is good for securing small items, however I usually like to use two side mesh pockets for an extra pair of shoes, which isn't possible with this pack, I'll have to secure them to the outside. The water reservoir is my favorite part, easily fillable and easy to dry. Also, it has a way to close the mouthpiece so it doesn't leak, which was my biggest issue with my old Camelback. The pocket for the reservoir is nice a large too. It's easy to slip it in after refilling even with a full pack, and also doubles as a laptop pocket. Only negative is that the magnet on the mouthpiece is too weak, it doesn't really work for attaching it to the shoulder straps. This pack has weight to it, so it's definitely not for the ultralight backpacker. It has substantial back padding, which is my preference, and has good breathability.
A great pack for a day hike! The Gregory hydro reservoir is by far the easiest water bladder I've ever used. It's super easy to clip in and out as well as disconnect the hose for refill. Coming from a person who often gets frustrated with bladders as they tend to leak and are difficult to clean etc. this one is amazing! Overall comfortable, functional day hiking pack. #giftedproduct
I loved the fit of the pack being made specifically for my size, and particularly appreciate the small details -- the Gregory water holders are very easy to fill and close (I find the sealing mechanism much easier to use than most other brands, and have had zero spills since getting this). I really appreciate that this is a real, utilitarian hiking/climbing pack -- pole loops, lots of extra zipped pockets, a ton of places to connect extra items. We used this for several day hikes, including a number of heavy rock scrambling hikes that involved carrying an infant in the front using a carrier. The pack held up extremely well. It will definitely be my go-to for day hikes moving forward.
I enjoyed the fit of this pack, it was very comfortable and didn't rub, however some of the adjustments were a bit hard to make and took some elbow grease to move. It only has one mesh pocket on the side, the other side is a zip which required me to remove the pack if I wanted to access it rather than just stick my hand back. I wish the pockets on the hip belt were just a bit longer so my phone would fit in it. The way the hydration bladder fits in is well designed where some other packs the hose touched my neck, this keeps it off. Overall a solid pack! Capacity will not get you more than a day trip, not many options to clip in things for an overnight.
I already had a Gregory 22L from 10 years ago, and it was great! But this one... it offers great back support and the new hydro system that is simple, streamlined and quick to use. I just used it to climb two 14,000 ft in Colorado and loved it. Biggest improvement was adding the back support. Love it!
Game changer. So comfortable. I go through the 3 L of water. Magnetic stay doesn’t work for me
Hi! I've had this pack for a couple weeks now and have worn it on short, mid range, and long hikes - the longest being an 18 mile hike with considerable elevation on a very hot day. It definitely met or exceeded all of my expectations. It fits well and I had no chafing anywhere. The main compartment is big enough for food and extra layers and whatever else you might need to pack for a day on the trail. The bladder is fantastic being both easy to fill and easy to clean. Without the bladder, the back compartment could easily hold a laptop and work well as a work/commuter backpack. I really can't think of any negatives. There is a nice large zippered pocket on the side and a small one with a key attachment on top. Both are easily accessible for smaller items like phones etc. If you don't want to use the bladder, there is a side pocket that will fit a large water bottle. This isn't my first Gregory backpack, so I can say with confidence that it's high quality and will last many years.
Great pack with all the pockets and space a daypack needs. Deducting a star here because of the side mesh netting: the very first time I went out on a hike with this bag I used a hydroflask bottle in it and the simple act of taking it in and out over one day has caused a couple tears in it. For a product that has a lifetime guarantee (a hallmark of longevity) it seemed peculiar that this should happen. I have two other Gregory packs and both are incredible...so it seems an anomaly that this should happen. I will need to put that guarantee to the test on this occasion and see what can be done.
I have not used the pack yet but it's size and structure are hard to find. I need a pack that will fit under an airplane seat with maximum capacity for traveling and comfortably get me hiking for two days(personal belongings and water, no tent or sleeping bag). This pack has a nice hip belt with roomy zip pockets, a large water bladder and hose system, roomy storage that can be cinched down to reduce size to fit under airplane seat or to keep what you pack from bouncing around while hiking, along with numerous additional features. Bonus the color is attractive. The real test comes in 3wks
Very comfortable to wear, and it seems it's the perfect size for a short hike, but the hip pockets were too small for me. I own a Pixel 6 Pro and they barely fit in the hip pockets. It fits in them, but it takes some squeezing. Not a huge deal, but overall for the type of hiking I do, I could pass with a smaller bag: I think I will return this one and purchase the Swift 16 and wear a separate fanny pack. The bag itself is well built and all seams are sturdy and the zippers are smooth.
