As I have gotten older my feet are getting wider I found out. A pair of Solomon were no longer comfortable to wear. I feet hurt. I went in to REI and they brought this shoe and Merrill boots in a wide. I like the feel of the Merrill but the insole hit me in the wrong spot. I bought the oboz in a wide and still working them in. So far my foot don’t hurt after wearing them after walking or hiking. I like the laces they aren’t slippery. They fit well around my ankle so there is no sliding around. The bottom are very firm walking over loose or big rocks. Haven’t tried walking when wet on rocks. I’m a rei member so I have a year to see if they work but so far they do.
Not thrilled. Tripped on a branch and the seam of the toe guard ripped partly off.
I love the new Oboz I love the new Oboz Women's Sawtooth hiking boots and prefer them to the old Sawtooths. I need a firm base, and the old version was too flexible for me. I am also glad they are available in wide, as I need a wide toe box. I have now purchased the Sawtooths in waterproof and non-waterproof, low cut and mid, and I find them extremely comfortable. They have met the test on many miles of trails!
These boots are amazing! I am a landscape designer and wear them everyday for work. They protect my feet year round in MD weather. No break in period needed. When I wear a pair out (takes me a year), I simply order a new pair and wear immediately. I never switch models as I’m afraid they will disappoint, where these never do. I’ve been buying these every year for the past 10 years.
Oboz have been my go to hiker but they have changed. They are Not as comfortable as they used to be, they seem to be a smaller toe box. Also don’t love the laces!
I love these boots. Lightweight. Zero break in. I am a day hiking guide in rugged, rocky terrain. Not waterproof however. Also, The seams at the toe area rip and I have to replace every 3-4 months. Because of the ripping of the seams, I might need to look elsewhere :(
used these for a 3 month backpacking trip, got a few blisters at first but after that were very comfortable. the only brand of boots out of the group i was with that didn’t fall apart. dry pretty quickly after water crossings since they aren’t GTX which was awesome.
They changed the design. Toe box is very narrow now, didn’t fit me so I had to return them. The material is also different, more stiff. No more rubber protection on the toe either which I really used to like.
My wife wears these boots every day. They are the most comfortable shoes that she owns. This is her second pair.
I have low rider Oboz which I love but have found this hiking boot to be extremely frustrating. I need ankle support for an injury and they constantly come untied. I’ve tried wrap around tie to get more support. Nothing works. Very disappointing
