Less expensive high polyester content socks from Target were a constant source of stinky sweaty feet and athlete’s feet for me. So I splurged on these $20 high content merino wool socks and after a month of wearing these I am really pleased with them. Sweaty feet and athletes feet is non-existent. They wear well and don’t shed like cheap Target socks. I wear them for two days and then wash them but only air dry them. Worth every penny so far. Buy 3 pair and get 10% off at REI.

Bought 4 pairs of these a few weeks ago and have plans to go back and get a couple more. I’ve found the last socks I’ll ever wear! So comfortable and they feel very durable. They cradle my feet really well and stay in place perfectly.

Only had these a short while and a few runs, but so far they have been great! Very comfortable!

My favorite socks, in a shortie design. I usually wear crews, but added these to the fleet for summer hikes, and I've loved them. I very rarely lose them into my shoes, and when I do, I know it's because I'm not laced up tight enough, so not their fault. These are, as always, perfect Smartwools, warm and dry and never stinky. I've worn them through a week of camping and never needed to air them out.

So I haven't been the best about reviewing, I spend enough money on clothes and gear from REI and plenty of other outdoors and hunting stores that I really should start reviewing more gear. I first found Smartwool over 10 years ago when I got myself a baselayer midweight quarter zip, shirt. I love it, and to this day it's one of my favorite articles of clothing, miraculously holding shape and integrity after all these years. That said, I've always liked their products, and obviously R&D pulls their weight for the entire merino industry. I just put these socks on half an hour ago, and I can already tell I'm going to love them. I'm about to go buy another couple pair during my errands this morning. I can't imagine these will give out too quickly, so long as they're taken care of. Merino doesn't need to be washed after every use, I frequently wear my merino socks for a few days total. After I have worn them (except for some brands that need a little dryer shrinkage love) I drape them over the side of my hamper to air-out, and will reuse them after a day with a different pair. These socks (along with some more cheaply made ultralight merino socks) will be in my daily work, and workout routines going forward. Keep up the great work Smartwool! If I have any problems with these, I'll quickly change my star rating, and update the text with the issues.

I would give them a zero. fit fine but after I put my shoes on and start to walk the back of the socks slides down into my shoes.

Bought these for road running, and they’re fantastic for that, but also enjoyed for trail runs. My last 10k trail run brought some rain, but paired with Altra Mont Blanc (Boa) trail shoes my feet stayed dry and comfortable throughout the run. Highly recommend for any outing, rain or shine!

I have been transitioning my sock drawer to be mainly wool and it has been great. Warmer than other socks, don't smell and are also incredibly comfortable! I have had these for around 1.5 years and they have made it through a bunch of hiking and running without any holes so far.

I bought these on a whim (and recommendation from my father) after a lifetime of wearing cheap white cotton socks. I run 6 mornings a week, and my feet are in love with these socks. I either need another couple pairs, or to do laundry a lot more often!

Great socks for hiking and backpacking. Purchased for my husband, who owns like 6 pairs of these socks. He wears them daily as well as on the trails. They wear out after a few years of heavy use, but it's the only socks he likes to wear.
