Sending my long/wide back before using it even though I caught it at a great price. I was planning on using this pad for Summer but as soon as I laid on it I knew it wasn’t for me. The vertical baffles feel too much like an old school beach float and I found it was barely able to support my hips and shoulders when on my side. When I sat up I was always on the ground. For comparison I pulled out my Tensor long wide and the difference was clear. There was more support , comfort, and when I sat up the pad did a decent job of not bottoming out….it wasn’t perfect but it tried. Looks like a non-insulated Tensor is in my future. I wasn’t thrilled with the feel of the materials by comparison either.
Initially my husband and I bought one each for our RTT. The pads in the Ikamper are horrible. As these exped pads weren’t 100% for us, (which in all reality what is perfect? Overall complaints being, noise, sitting position squishes bottom onto floor, and ability to adjust firmness) we started using them for our boys to sleep on on the floor in our room at family stays, airbnbs, trip to Hawaii, and numerous stays in Motel 6, as well as plenty of camping trips. Granted the boys are roughly 80 pounds each, BUT rambunctious little maniacs that throw the pads around the room and make forts with the them. These pads have impressed the heck out of me with well over 100 nights used, by our children and my husband and myself. Also an impressive point is they stay inflated during a many days use. They have outlasted all our options for anything “better” to sleep on in the RTT, that my husband and I adopted them back as our main sleeping pads in the tent. Owned them for over 2 years and hoping that next two I purchase are as great quality.
