Used these on a hiking trip to Rocky Mountain National Park and I was so happy with them! I loved the fabric and the drawstring waist band. Thorns and sticks that would normally get stuck in jean fabric just glances off and the drawstring waist band makes it easy to keep them up without a belt. I like my hiking pants a titch looser so if you’re looking for skin tight this isn’t for you. I used these long (ordered tall) and rolled up and it works great both ways. I didn’t use the snaps since the pants stayed rolled on their own. Only complaint is the fact that the thigh “cargo” pocket was too small for my phone and putting my phone in my front pocket didn’t allow my leg to lift much. But I wore a hiking pack most of the time so it wasn’t an issue.
Comfy but still look nice. I wear them hiking and to work. Hold up nicely
I'm a huge fan of the original Halle pant. After reading some of the other reviews, I decided to try both the Halle II and the Halle Straight II. The Straight fit me much better. I liked it through the hips and thighs. However, I was left with a weird crease in the crotch that made me ultimately decide against it. Waist: 28" Hips: 38.5" I liked the 0 as a snug fit. The 2 also fit well.
i’ve trekked many miles in these pants and i will never wear anything else. i’m 5’6”, 140 lbs, athletic/curvy. size 6 fits like a dream. i have 3 colors. i want em all.
I purchased these pants because I knew the product. My previous purchase lasted for several years. Unfortunately, after very little wear and tear this item has me disappointed. The quality of the material is very different. The fibers are 'piling'. I am not sure how to describe.
I have three pairs of the Prana Halle! There are very limited items in one's wardrobe that'd you'd *want* to hike, lounge, garden, and go out wearing -- be comfortable, passable in public, etc. These do all those things! Super comfortable (stretchy), high quality (durable), and functional. The only downside (which is an upside for me) is that I imagine they run short in length. I am wearing a 4-Regular in the photo. The short inseam is a bit too short. Highly recommend this pant.
These pants are billed as hiking pants that "resist abrasion." I bought these for travel, and they didn't last 5 days. The fabric catches easily and pills. I had on a raincoat with velcro wrists, and the velcro caught on the pants and caused them to pill up immediately. I would have expected that a hiking pant would withstand more than that. They do have a very nice fit. The zip pockets are in the right place but they are too small to hold a phone. I really wanted to like these pants, but I wouldn't buy them again.
I found these pants to fit well (14 petite) and were very comfortable. Also looked great for every day wear, not just for hiking. I bought 2 pairs and after wearing 1 for about 5 days, had horrible pilling in the inner thigh area. I think it is made from a different fabric than the rest of the pants. I returned those, thinking maybe it was just that pair. However after wearing the second pair for only 3-4 days, the same thing happened. I will be returning that pair and never buying Prana again. For $95, they shouldn't do that at all and certainly not after only wearing them a short time. Both times it occurred after wearing them but never having washed them.
I've bought at least 6 pairs of the old Prana Halle pants over the past decade+ in many styles and many colors. I loved those pants. They are my regular office wear. They've been out hiking, rock climbing, long bike rides, long airplane rides you name it. They've been amazing. I purchased two pairs of halle II last year, one straight, one classic and have definitely noticed a difference. The good: the styling is better than ever and the pockets are much bigger. They finally keep my phone from falling out in the car. The fabric is lighter and shinier and after taking them backpacking they seem as tear resistant and stain resistant. The bad: they pill aggressively. Both pairs have started pilling in 6 months and after a year have noticeable pills around the pockets and at the hems. In some ways Prana set the bar too high by making their original pants look brand new after many years of weekly wear. If only they returned to their original fabric with their current design... And bring back the convertible!
I bought a pair when they first came out - excited to get the Marine Color - love that blue. I tried them on and was so disappointed. After purchasing over 10 pair of Halle pants regular and tall, this was the first pair I have ever sent back. I have them in Black, Gray, Light Green, Marine Green, and Marine, and Gold. I sure hope Prana makes appropriate modifications to correct this issue or I will have to find another brand of pant.
