Overall, very satisfied with these tights. They are very comfy and surprisingly smooth. I usually go between a size small and medium. I got these in a small and they fit just right. I ran in these tights a couple times and hiked in them. All these times the tights worked great. They stayed up while running and were comfy and stretchy for big hiking steps. The biggest (and really only) downsides are the lack of pockets and thinner fabric. The tights do not have side pockets nor a small pocket that is usually found in the waistband so there is no where to hold any of one's stuff. However, they are advertised as tights not leggings and this may be more a leggings thing. The tights are not thin all around. They are pretty good except in the back. I would not say they are see through but you can probably see underwear lines depending on what you are wearing. If this does not bother you or you have a good pair of underwear that doesn't make lines then these tights are go for about any activity. Again, these are tights not leggings so maybe that explains the lines. Despite these two downsides, I would and have worn these tights in legging fashion thus far. I think they could also make a good base layer in the colder months. I will try that! Perhaps if you do not like the color that's another downside but they look as pictured. The tights are periwinkle and I really like the coloring. I am 5'4" and these fit full length. They are also a high rise so the top of the band hit at my belly button
Okay, I know odor control shouldn't be the thing that I lead with, but it's what I was most curious about in terms of the features. I wore these tights at least four times before washing them and they didn't stink. I could hardly believe it. I even sweated in them, and they didn't stink and the sweat evaporated worked pretty quickly. I also like the fact that they seem to have a smoothing quality. You know how some tights seem to highlight every bump, roll, and imperfection? These don't do that! These are a size small, and I weight 130 pounds. I don't consider myself slender, curvy or athletic, but I had to pick a box. I think of myself as medium build and a little hippy.
I wore these leggings for the entire Appalachian trail. The seams eventually started to blow out, but these leggings never stretched out or needed to be pulled up, despite being worn every day for days at a time without being washed. I just bought another pair to do the Colorado trail in.
I have a bunch of Patagonia leggings. My favorites are the centered ones which I have in both full length and crop. I always find a small works for me in their leggings, but I don’t like them super tight. I loved the colors of these Maipo leggings and ordered both the green and blue. They are much thinner than other Patagonia leggings that I own and the fit was bigger. The smalls literally left a bagginess in the crotch area that was unflattering. I exchanged and sized down to an Xs, which fit better. They are however so thin that it looks like there are dark marks (almost like a stain) where the fabric had creased with folding. I’m unsure about the quality for this price honestly. I kept the green because the marks were less noticeable and I just really like the color. Not sure how well they will hold up with time.
At first I was afraid these might be too thin because they are super lightweight - but, and they are hard to describe, it is like they have some cloudlike consistency so while they are really lightweight they feel like they have plenty of protection. They have a velvety feel to them, and keep me at a comfortable temperature whether in the direct sun or in the shade. I'm 5'6, 115 w/a slender build and the XS fit great. I got these in black so didn't have any issues with sweat. The pocket in the back can hold an iPhone mini if you need it for that, though I do wish these had side pockets instead.
I found these leggings to be quite comfortable and the rise fit seemed appropriate. I would compare them in fit to the Lululemon Align tights - pretty minimal and seamless in fit and material. However, after having worn them for quite a few gym workouts, I’m not sure if I would consider them my hardcore workout or cardio tight. They don’t seem to wick sweat well. I would probably continue to wear them for easy training or activities. The color is really nice, though.
These tights are super comfortable and I enjoy wearing them to lounge or just walk around the neighborhood. They're not very compressive compared to some of Athleta and Lululemon leggings that I have which is a nice change of pace. Generally I prefer leggings with a side pocket for my phone but these do have a back waist pocket that my phone fits into, albeit a bit awkwardly, if needed. Due to the lack of pockets, I wouldn't wear these tights on a run or really any workout where I expect to sweat - because of the light color of the leggings, any bit of sweat or water that I spill shows up right away. I'm 5'3" and 120-125 lbs and the XS was a great fit. The length is the perfect regular length for me (which is typical for anything that says ankle or 7/8).
Loved the fact that I was able to pick up this order at the store as I wanted to make sure the tights fit which they did! Comfortable fit, had to roll up the bottom of the tights as I'm short 5'2" which I normally have to do with other tights, absolutely love the pattern and how well they fit. Use them for walking and it does have a pocket in the back for my ID, drivers license, etc. Am buying another one like this as I'll be able to wear these with an light insulated skirt when it gets cooler and windy where I live. Can't get over how smooth the material feels plus it has enough support where it sits on my waist but doesn't feel tight. Wish I had tried these years ago!
These are honestly some of the softest leggings I have ever worn and would be great for lounging or a mellow yoga class. However, when worn for high impact activities and in the heat, they unfortunately show sweat. I am not a particularly sweaty person and during runs, high intensity workouts and even weight training, they quickly showed sweat around my crotch and waistband.
These tights are wonderful. They are nice and thin, super stretchy, made from soft material, and also seem to be very durable and flattering! I love the fit. The higher waist helps to keep them in place and the 7/8 length is my favorite. It sits right at the ankle, with no awkward extra at the top of your shoes. They are incredibly comfortable for both lounging and active pursuits like hiking. I'd do a yoga class in these bad boys in a heartbeat. I love the periwinkle color of the Current Blue. Sizing seems pretty true to size if not a little forgiving. I usually wear larges in pant sizes, but the mediums in these tights fit so well because they are so stretchy. All of this would be enough for me to recommend these tights to anyone, but Patagonia outdid themselves by offering all of this in a garment that is also Fair Trade Certified and made entirely from recycled fishing nets. 1000% would recommend.
