Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and Âľ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Love the fabric but the fit is odd
I got this shirt in an XL because I like a little room in my workout clothes. This is the first time a tank in this size that just fits weird on me. It’s really short and only comes to the top of your pants, so just below the belly button. I wouldn’t mind this if that was the intent of the shirt, but I don’t think it is. Also the armholes are very large. Not like a weight lifting shirt but more like they just hang on the sides. There isn’t really a taper up the sides of the tank, so the sides of the shirt are just as wide as the waist, hence gaping dangling armpit holes. I do like the feel and stretch of the fabric and the slit in the back is really nice for venting and looks cool. Overall this tank runs very large, but is comfortable. I’m only going to wear it at home though, it looks too odd to wear out in public.
Great top!
This shirt is very flattering and comfortable. The back vent is cute and helps keep me cool during intense workouts. I’ve worn it several times for HIIT workouts and to lift and I can’t wait to wear it running and hiking when the weather warms up. Also super cute athleisure wear to run errands in! It is a looser fitting shirt so it wouldn’t be great for yoga or upside down movements.
Great for warm weather!
The distinctive styling can be an advantage. It is not form fitting. It is loose at the bottom/waistline with a spit in the back. This can be an advantage for a smoother appearance to hide mid riff bulges and to allow airflow in warm weather. It is a few inches shorter than expected. Shorter than a t-shirt of this size would be for example. The material is soft and pleasant. I ordered an XL as I prefer my tops a bit loose. According to the size chart my measurement fit between L and XL. I opted for XL. I would have fit better in a large. The arm holes were a bit too large and the top flared a bit too much at the bottom.
Boxy fit, nice material
Fit is boxy, with rather large armpit cutouts. I probably should have gotten a medium rather than a large, so take my sizing complaints with the grain of salt that it wasn't the right size for me, but my arms never would fill these arm holes regardless of size! It's nice to have the material far from my pits for sweating purposes, but it's more of a wife-beater / show the sides of my bra kind of look than I'd prefer. That said, it's not for fashion, and it will get the job done as a top for the gym -- maybe not for yoga though, because it would flop in my face during inverted poses! Material is soft and wicking, the flaps at the lower back are good for venting.
AMAZING FOR CURVY WOMEN
I can not tell you just how much I love this top. I have a 34E bra size, so a large chest, a small waist and then wide hips - I'm curvy. This is one of the few tops that fits me, looks nice, and also hides my belly. The cut is boxy and their is a slit in the back - I didn't expect it to work out but I've come to love It. I wish REI would make this top in other colors and not just "girly colors". Give me some black, white, grey, navy blue, greens- I swear to you I would buy this top in bulk. I'm purposely giving them a this top a one bc I'm hoping some at REI sees this and decided to make it more colors.
Great for warm temps and casual activities
The REI Co-op Take Your Time Tank Top fit well and is made of a nice, lightweight cotton material (which I really liked) and has the solid construction expected with all REI products. The purple color is true to the online image. My only complaint is that the shirt fit a bit shorter and boxier than expected. For reference, I am 5'8'' and have a long torso, so it may be fine for other body shapes. I am keeping the top, just plan to wear it with high rise leggings.

Best most versatile tank
This is a great top. It covers the tip-tops of shoulders for a little bit of sun protection, the high neck helps with the sun too. Yet it is completely breathable and the fabric is lightweight and perfect. The cut and length make this top soooo versatile-- I tie it in the back for yoga and running so it's not flopping around on me, but if I'm just hiking or hanging out I can leave the back slit hang loose for extra cooling. It's my favorite of all the tanks I bought this year.
Great tank top.
Nice fabric and fit. Just the right length; not to long, not too cropped. I normally wear an xtra small or small and small fits perfect. An xtra small would have worked also, just depends on how you like it to fit.
Comfy and Cool on Hot runs or yoga Sweat Seshs
What can I say about this shirt, other than I love it. Its cozy enough to sleep in, just loose enough to add some wind on warm summer runs and great for yoga or HIIT workouts that get you sweaty. I practically lived in it for the first few days I had it.
