As a new mom I decided to treat myself to this jacket. I do a lot of running around to doctor appointments and check ups. I'm constantly hauling my daughter around in her carseat rain or shine mama needs a little protection from the wather. I really wanted to get some form of a rain coat. I have to say I made the right choice. I love the style of the jacket. You can wear the jacket with the hood or tuck it under and wear it without. The hood is a great size you have plenty of protection. I bought the jacket in white and couldn't be happier. The jacket is light but thick enough to keep you warm. Did I mention how comfortable it is too? I'm tall and have a long torso it can be difficult finding the right fit for my body but this is perfect. I do a lot of online shopping and always find myself reading reviews from other people before making a purchase I really hope my review helps someone find this jacket like I did. I'll definitely be ordering more clothing from The North Face as the seasons change. I would recommend this jacket to you all especially for the price. It met and exceeded my expectations.
Bought this for a 3 day hiking trip up a volcano and I needed a rain jacket to possibly layer over my fleece jacket if the weather acts up but I wanted to look cute doing so. The fabric repels water so well I don't get drenched underneath it at all, it's light enough to keep in my backpack or tie it around my waist and the color is too cute!! Once I saw the faded rose/fig color, I was hooked. In certain lightings, it does come off as more of a salmon pink/coral especially in photos but for the most part, it's a beautiful pale-ish pink in person I like all those color variations anyway, so its perfectly fine with me. The 2 zippered front pockets are nice and big its actually useful- I get to store my plus size phone and other essentials in them. Overall, such a good buy!
Best jacket I have ever owned. Light weight and breathable for those days where you are not sure if you even need a jacket. Zip it up and it keeps you warm and toasty on those cold afternoons. I especially like the comfotable feeling the fleece like materal gives you when you pull up the collar. I bought mine about a year ago and liked it so much I bought one for my daughter in college at the University of Nebraska. She liked hers so much she bough one for mom as a birthday present. Our other daughter just staretd college at CU and we sent her one too. The whole dang family has one now and we all abosultely love them !!!
I was looking for a light weight water resistant jacket for a while until I found this one. It's super comfortable, lightweight and warm! Usually water proof jackets aren't really warm but this one really is! :)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome jacket! Stuck in rain ALL day (seriously 12 hours) on Mackinac Island, when we got back to our campsite our top half of our bodies were completely dry! ALL THUMBS UP!
I had this jacket (among MANY others) when we lived in the Pacific Northwest. When we moved to Hawaii 9 years ago, this jacket has been a constant staple for the out of the blue rain we get here. Since it's rainy yet WARM, most jackets are not practical. This jacket is so lightweight that it works in warm, rainy weather and if it's really warm, you can unzip under the arms for extra ventilation (such an awesome and practical feature on this jacket)! However, there have been some colder rainy days on our visits to the mainland where this jacket has kept me warm and dry (with layers underneath, of course!) Love this jacket and the fun colors it comes in.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how light weight the jacket is, it kept me warm. I love the length and how stylish it looks, I have been looking for a blue rain/windbreaker, the only thing I wish, was that you could see "NORTH FACE" on the jacket. They used a blue stitching rather than a white so it blended in with the jacket, you can't really see the logo on it, I was a bummed out about it. It showed on the internet that it had a white stitching but I received a blue stitching so not sure if they made a mistake with mine. I have been waiting for this one for a long time and so happy I finally got it. I do really wish you would change the stitching to show the NORTH FACE on it.
I'm 5'2" and weigh 127. I bought the medium but it was too snug when putting a polar fleece layer under the jacket. So I sent that back and got a large (I never wear a large anything!). There wasn't much of a difference in size between the medium and the large so I sent that one back as well. I guess if you want just a raincoat for fairly warm temps, this will do. I ended up getting a competitor's jacket in a medium that still had lots of room for layering, had huge pockets, and ended at my knees, not my hips. The next question is whether I would recommend this jacket to a friend. I would say "yes" only for fairly warm weather.
The jacket fits great, it's comfortable, durable and quality made. I was looking for a lightweight jacket to wear over sweatshirts in the spring and fall on rainy days and this is exactly what I had in mind. I normally wear an XS, and like my jackets to be more on the form fitting side, but knowing I wanted to have some extra room to wear sweatshirts underneath the jacket I went up a size and couldn't ask for a better fit. I got the asphalt color, which is a dark gray and pink accents. The pink color is vibrant yet adds a subtle touch of personality to the jacket, which I love. I get lots of complements when I wear it.
I tried severallllll different styles and brands to find a practical jacket that was water resistant, light & windproof- but also figure flattering. WINNER! Beware though- the TIN GREY/HIGH RISE GREY jacket is NOT the beautiful dark grey color with a black interior s pictured- rather, a sad/dirty looking dusty beige...on the outer and inner shell. Returned and got the MID GREY/ TNF BLACK model, which I love. Would have preferred the darker grey outer, but a North Face rep said they don't even make it. Suggested they remove it from the listing so that others aren't sent the dirty beige color, but I see it's still here.
