Used a few times begrudgingly... I say that because these are very itchy. Used my other base layers and this one as temps fluctuated between -20F and 20F the past couple weeks and this was the only itchy pair. They also ripped at the hip seams in several spots when I first pulled them on, which was disappointing. I'm about 29.5" waist, 37.5" hips and went with the Small per size chart and to not have loose extra fabric when layering bottoms as I like to layer under tight(er) pants to xc ski. After the initial rips, nothing else popped. They kept me generally warm in the 10-20 degree temps, felt good in the thighs and the elastic waistband, but I couldn't get over how itchy they felt. The itchiness did not go away with a wash on gentle cycle and air dry.
Was only able to wear them 4 or 5 times during very mild skiing (beginner here) before they got a random tear on my thigh, not at a seam, on the backside, or any point of pressure, just on my thigh. I expected better durability for the price point, especially considering how many washes my smartwool items have withstood. I followed their wash and dry directions and used a mesh bag, so I don't know what happened. On the bright side, they fit true to size, keep you warm, and are lightweight enough to breathe.
Very soft material. Keeps me warm but I don't overheat. Washes up well - hang to dry. Is a little short on me but that is 'normal' (comparing to other brands) due to my leg length. I reach for these over other similar items in my closet.
I'm normally a solid size 4-6 so I tried the small. I'm on the curvier side and the leggings weren't really to accommodate the curves. I ordered again in the medium but the waist was too big with the elastic not being tight.
Color & fit as expected. Not too heavy, but all wool. I’m curious about the ventilation at the top? That’s not where I’d have vented leggings for women. REI management/admin-do better. Support unionization.
I used this product hiking in Patagonia. The wind was blowing 64 mph, the base layer was instrumental in blocking the wind. Great stretch and function, not at all itchy. The waistband was comfy and kept the tights from slipping down which is a problem with other tights. Especially nice to wash these and they would be dry the next day to wear again. The flat seams are strong and comfortable.
These just arrived but are much scratchier/itchy than my Smartwool or Odlo's. I thought maybe washing would help, but based on another review stating that did not help, I will just return these. Other reviews say they are soft, so it may just be my sensitive skin.
i really like them. not itchy. keep my legs warm while biking. 4 stars since they are not very stretchy. i feel like i might rip them if i stretch too much them in
