WhitePaws RunMitts  Wind & Water Resistant Mittens

I have Raynaud's syndrome, and it is extremely difficult to keep my fingers/hands warm even when it's not that cold out. Mittens are obviously better than gloves, but these are a big improvement over mittens in preventing my fingers/thumb from going numb. Easy to pull the flap on or off when you need to use your fingers briefly without having to take them all the way off. These are perfect for wet/damp/rainy weather, and I also have a pair of the fleecy fabric for colder/dry weather.

These are great! I went running this morning with my dog, which involves holding a leash and I was still able to grip and keep my hands warm. Compared to running with standard gloves, these are easy to just slip the top off without being distracted on the run. I will say my thumb did peak through a bit when grabbing my dog's leash. But surprisingly it was still warm

Love these mitts. But I should have ordered a medium, not a small. I have average size women's hands - 3.5" across palm at lowest knuckles. But for these mitts, you need to add the width of your thumb to that measurement. So your total hand, slightly open, as you hold it during running.

As someone who has unusually cold hands and lives in the Pacific Northwest with it’s varying levels of cold and wetness, I found the versatility of these gloves to be perfect. I often struggle to decide which gloves or mittens I need to bring on a run, but these make the decision easy. If it’s very cold I use them fully. If it’s only a bit cold I can flip the tops down to let my hands breathe a bit. If I end up not needing them on the run, I just pull them down to my wrists and don’t have to worry about storing them anywhere. Not having a thumb hole isn’t an issue as I hardly ever need to use my thumbs on runs and can toggle my watch through the glove. Plus If I do need my thumbs, I probably need all of my fingers and pulling my hand through allows me to easily accomplish tasks (like tying my shoes) with the extra dexterity even thin gloves can’t provide. Highly recommend!

I have been running for years during the winters in the northeast. I have tried 5 finger gloves that were rated highly and mittens designed for runners. When it's really cold, none of them kept my fingers warm. Since discovering WhitePaws, I'll never wear anything else. Their design, which allows all of your fingers to stay together, keeps your entire hand warm. And, its easy to slip your fingers out to operate your watch. This product is a winner; I'm a customer for life.

I purchased both the double velour and wind and water resistant mittens and I absolutely love them. The mittens are very functional because I can cover my hands when it’s cold or wet, and when my hands get warm during a walk or a run I can bring the glove down to my wrist which is so convenient for me. When I run in to a Starbucks or royal farms to get coffee I don’t have to take my mitten off and run the risk of losing it which is the greatest problem I’ve had keeping other gloves I’ve purchased. While these sounded like a nice upgrade from the original fleece version, they are not. The material is stiffer, which is good when it comes to wind and water protection but unfortunately, because the bottom/hand portion is straight and the top/finger portion is rounded, it prevents the tops from staying closed. My fingertips kept getting exposed to the cold, so they did not serve their intended purpose. I'll stick with the fleece pair; those work beautifully for me.

I like these more than I thought! Wore these this morning in mid-30s and light rain/snow, with some wind. The outside of the fabric has a slicker feel to proof against the elements, while the inside has a nice cozy fleece that’s soft against the skin. Hands were toasty warm, and it was great to flip the tops open when things heated up, and back closed when the wind picked up again. Having full dexterity without pulling the mitt off was so refreshing—no more fumbling with gloves. I have small hands (just shy of 3.5” across the knuckles, including thumb) so I’m glad these actually fit me—size Small is perfect. Fantastic idea that is nicely executed, and I love that it supports a small business AND is made in the US. All that makes the value a no-brainer! Can’t say much about durability yet, but these do seem well made. I wasn’t sure if the tops would stay back when flipped open, or flop around because they don’t have a fastener. But I was pleasantly surprised to note that they did stay open very nicely; the way the flap is designed and positioned keeps them back and out of the way. The only thing I’m a tiny bit unsure about is how long the stitching will hold for many runs of flipping the mitts open and closed. There seems to be a single stitch (though admittedly it’s a fairly thick thread) hanging on for dear life at the outer edge of each mitt’s flap. It would be a simple fix to reinforce it with some hand-stitching, but of course I hope it’s not needed! In any case, I am more than pleased with these RunMitts, and have already bought the double velour ones for even colder temps :) If there’s ever a merino RunMitt, I would get those in an instant too!!

Wish I’d saved my money. These aren’t practical for me to use in running. They have no thumb outlet so it straightjackets your hands — I run with my phone in my hand and pretty much couldn’t hold it. It’s like not having an opposable thumb, meh. They kept my hands warm but in a way that just made them sweaty. Could breathe and so didn’t feel like a good warmth, not practical for exercising. All in all, I’d wear these again on a freezing day. But besides a sort of uncomfortable warmth, they’re pretty disappointing and not practical for most regular runners.

My hands are small, measuring 4" across the palms including the thumbs. I bought the size S mitts, which the manufacturer's web site lists as being 4" wide. Unfortunately, 4" is the outside dimension of the mitt, which means that it can only accommodate hands much narrower than 4". I will be returning these and looking into whether the size M or L may work for me. I will have to open the manufacturer's packaging to try on the mitts because, as another reviewer pointed out, the mitts cannot be tried on as packaged. The mitts' concept, quality, and construction seem good and I'm looking forward to determining whether another size may work for me. For sizing, I must advise to try before you buy.
