Questionable "sale" price for a good jacket

I have a bulky down jacket that is great for the coldest days in Minnesota, but this one is light weight while still warm enough for moderate winter days. I got one size up to allow for sweaters underneath. The one disappointment was the pricing. I pulled off the price sticker to see another lower priced one underneath. I bought it on sale, but the price was close to the same on the original price sticker. I've thought of REI as an honest retailer, but I wondered whether the price was labeled higher to make a "sale" possible.

Stylish and warm

I bought this in Feb. right before a trip to Europe for a month. I was worried that I'd be cold in Germany and Czech Republic, but the jacket has kept me perfectly warm. I also feel great in it, the red is stunning. I normally size up for my winter jackets, but I didn't need to here. My only wish is that it were more packable. REI lists it as packable, but it doesn't include a pouch or instructions to fold into a pocket. You can push the air out but comparatively to my other jackets, I'm not sure I'd call it packable.

Couldn't Be Happier!

I love it so much! The fit is exactly what I was looking for - cute and boxy, but not too cropped. The fabric and down fill is SUPER soft. I got in the oyster color which is even better in person than online shots - feels very elevated. Even though this may not be the "most waterproof", I can confirm it is highly water resistant. It kept me dry and warm during a rainy PNW day, even after a car splashed me w a puddle! The (dirty) water bounced right off leaving no trace behind - which was such a relief considering the color of the coat. All in all this piece exceeded my expectations SO much so that I felt compelled to share with whoever will listen ;-)

Such a great investment!

I was looking for a shorter jacket to wear on the coldest days in central Alabama and this jacket was perfect if not a little too warm in some instances (you will be boiling if the temperature reaches 45 degrees Fahrenheit)! I love the high collar and the DWR worked very well on our one snow day. It runs a little large, which allowed me to get an XL. As another expert mentioned, it may be a little short in the arms for taller people to use the thumb holes. I am also 5'9" and it took a little stretch for me. This jacket is easy to move in and super cozy! I would likely recommend it for apres ski, light snow days, or urban commuting in cold temperatures.

My new FALL/WINTER jacket go-to!

This is my FALL/WINTER go to jacket! It's so versatile. I get compliments everywhere I go. I purchased in yellow and I love the cut (it's more crop but actually very flattering) and it's so warm without that big bulky feeling! I can't take it off. Love the quality, fit and color. I normally am a size medium, but ordered a small in the coat and it fits perfect and I am still able to layer underneath.

Didn’t last can’t be washed

This jacket was A ok until I washed it per the instructions and all the feather left the back of the coat. Like it’s a windbreaker in the back now. I tried tumble drying it low and nothing. It’s totally unusable after one wash which is really disappointing

Throw this on every day

I am 5'9'' and 190lbs. Bought a size L and it fits with room for a bulky sweater underneath. Very warm and comfortable. The high collar means I can often go without a scarf or hood; the long sleeves, knit cuffs, and warm pockets mean I can often go without gloves. It's the perfect throw-it-on layer for walking the dog or going to the store. When I'm all done up with hat and gloves and everything it is warm enough for spending hours outside in -10C weather. Blocks wind effectively, and drawcords at the hem keep wind from sneaking in the bottom.

Love this jacket!

I was unsure if i would like this jacket but i needed a down jacket and this was on sale so i ordered it and figured i could return it if it didnt work out. I am in love with this jacket! It is so cute, comfortable, and cozy. It feels like you are wrapped in a blanket and i just want to sleep in it. Its not too hot on its own but layer it with something underneath and you will be toasty for sure. I put it on to try it and its so comfy i dont want to take it off. I thought it would make me look boxy but its flattering. I even was iffy about the color but the green is such a nice deep color that pops but isnt too loud at the same time. Everything about this jacket is awesome. Its very lightweight and seems like you would be able to pack it into a bag pretty easily, which is what i plan to do with it.

Nice jacket, great color

I really like this jacket! Bought the deep teal and it's a really rich jewel tone, nice and dark but still bright. I really like the zipper snap combo. The shape is pretty stylish so good for the workplace and outdoors, mostly worn in mild city hike weather for now. I was hoping to get it as a stand alone puffy and it's not quite warm enough for that, but a great layering piece. I fit the M and L (5'8" 130lbs) and I bought the L for easier layering. I like the inside mesh pocket. I wish it was a little warmer but I love this jacket!
