Fantastic Dry Suit!
Just bought the Mustang Hudson dry suit and LOVE IT! First of all, these are generously cut... I think they call it an "expedition fit". Some might not like it but for me who is 6'4 260lbs it's GREAT! I did have to drop from a XXL which is what I fit in other drysuits, to an XL and still had plenty of room for movement. Next the expandable neck makes putting the suit on and wearing all day SO much nicer than a regular latex gasket. The neck after a couple of prolonged swims during a training did leak a little (very little) but probably due to my not cinching it down tight enough. Even if it does consistently leak a little, the comfort trade-off is well worth it. The suit is made bomb proof with reinforced butt and knees so might be a little heavier and bulkier than other suits but I think will long outlast any suit currently on the market. I was surprised as to how much I like having the knee pads! You don't realize how uncomfortable crawling around on top of raft frames is until you have knee pads and that pain is gone! I also like having the extended front zipper as a relief zipper. I'd much rather just take care of just one zipper and works just fine as a relief zipper. It's also nice to having the waterproof zipper pockets for my cellphone and keys. Customer service is great, switched out suit sizes without blinking, done in a couple days. The only thing I would like to see changed is having something like a Velcro flap over the loop of elastic cord for the neck so it's not just hanging out there looking for something to catch. I also worry a little about the large zipper pull. Small improvements for such a great suit!
Tall female? Don't bother
Great quality. However, I'm returning--6'3" female here, 180lbs. I needed a 36" inseam and this XL men's was about as close as I could get, at a 35". As I expected (though hope always runs irrationally optimistic), I'm swamped in the top. It looks like two of me would fit. The waist is 11" too big. Shoulders, ditto. Chest, ditto. Can't imagine getting dumped and trying to swim in this. It was just a last-gasp (haha) effort to find an off-the-rack drysuit before going with a custom one for double the price. So if you're a tall woman, I'd say, don't bother.
