The best travel wallet

I bought this on a whim while standing in line at the checkout, and it was one of the best purchases I've ever made. Small, light, secure, and clips right into my Osprey backpack, so when i'm traveling, I always know exactly where it is. I love that it has a window on one side, and then a windowless zippered pouch on the other. There are essentially four little storage areas, so I can put the stuff that I need to access regularly on the windowed side and hide cash and other stuff on the other.

Quality has fallen

Having owned Chums Surfshorts Wallet for many years there has unfortunately been a decrease in quality. The zipper no longer holds up as it once did on the original I had. The original still has fully functional zipper but the material had worn to the point it needed replacement. The new one I bought as a replacement has already failed in less than a year at the zipper. This has happened to myself and one other person I know of. I'm on the hunt for a different product now as I've lost my belief in Chums.

Excellent Compact Wallet!

This is my second Chums Surfshorts wallet. My first lasted a good 6+ years and probably would have continued on had the zipper tab not gotten caught on a grocery basket and broken off. Oh well, it was well-used anyway. It’s a very good sports wallet which I use everyday, hiking, biking and skiing. As it’s not waterproof, I won’t take it with when doing water sports unless it’s protected inside a waterproof container. This is why I can’t give it five stars. If it was waterproof and floated, it would deserve five stars. Chums thankfully enlarged the model slightly compared to my previous wallet which I’m pleased about. It’s much easier to slide items in and out.

10 Years Later

I’ve owned my Chums wallet for 10 years since I bought it for a year-long trip (One World One Year). It was a great travel wallet then, being small and easy to stash securely, and I was so accustomed to it that I kept using it for years… and years… and years. It’s held up great and only now, a decade later, the front plastic window has cracked. So here I am looking for a new one, although maybe I can replace the plastic and get 10 more years.

Perfect little wallet

This is my second Chums. I bought a plain black one maybe 5 yrs ago for whenever I just needed to bring essentials like an ID, a credit card, little cash, etc. It has a window for ID & compartments to separate stuff. I attach a little cord & carabiner that hooks onto my belt loop. The cord totally helps to prevent it from falling to the floor coz of my butterfingers lol, and for when it slides out of my womens' teeny tiny (ugh!) pants pocket. I loved it til the zipper gave out just a few months ago and needed to get a new one. I love the colors on my new one, metallic light blue & yellow. REI had other cool colors & designs. Will definitely buy another one when this one falls apart.

Chums Made in America

I love this little key chain and stash wallet. I discovered that this little company was started by a river guide trying to come up with an innovative product to hold onto his keys and a few other items. I love supporting American Companies especially when they make good products. I like hanging my keys on the loop and then holding a few grocery cards and my luck Silver Dollar in the pouch. Go out and get one my friends.

I love this dumb little wallet

I had no idea I’d love this little wallet so much! I initially bought it with biking in mind, but I’ve found I’d rather use this all the time than go back to my fancy leather wallet. I love how compact it is, with exactly enough room for my cards and a little cash. Not only is it great for extra security in a bike jersey pocket, it’s also great for fitting into a small purse leaving plenty of space for other items. Is it sophisticated looking? Absolutely not. Do I care? Turns out no.

Nice when you want to go light

I find it convenient for every day use for my keys on ring, license, insurance cards, bus card etc. It has two pockets so cards go in one and some bills and my Aldi quarter and some headache medication in the other. It's on the thin side so everything needs to be pretty flat. It's nice to throw into my bike bag when I don't want to carry, and in situations where I don't want to pull out a full wallet. Mine was blue and black, no yellow zipper, and that's fine with me.

Love the format and design, but not the wear.

It's perfect in size and compartment design. Unfortunately its material turned fuzzy with strands hanging off of it within a couple of weeks in my back pocket. I would almost recommend it anyway.
