Began to delaminate after relatively few miles
Mine has started to delaminate after less than 100 miles. The top layer has separated from the foam at the bend in my drops where my palms contact the tape. This has left a big sticky spot. Also the tape is really not very strong and almost immediately began to move and reveal the bars. A tighter winding might have helped, but I was already running out of tape when I applied it. It is pretty comfortable though. I will probably be returning to get something else.
Lizard Skins delivers!
This is exactly what you would expect. A very thick, very cushy handlebar tape. It's relatively easy to install and gave me exactly what I wanted. I have big hands so I wanted a thicker handlebar in general and extra cushion/shock absorbance sine this is going on my gravel bike. Great tape with and without gloves!
Poor performance
The problem with many online reviews is that people review a product as soon as they buy it, and they are very pleased with it because it is seemingly exactly what they’re looking for. That is the case with this bar tape. I have gone through about six rolls of this over the past few years (I got a discontinued color at a good price so I stocked up.) When it’s first installed, it seems fantastic! It has great grip and great cushion and it’s very nice to ride with. However, it will not stay on the handlebars. I have wrapped hundreds of handlebars so I’m not wrapping it too tightly or stretching it as people often warn against. I know how to install handlebar tape. It just will not stay put. It’s a very disappointing product once you’ve used it for a couple of months. At this price point, I expect far more. I’m going back to good old-fashioned cloth tape.
