Able to climb up/around Black Mountain and down Black Widow in San Diego. A solid rig for Mammoth Mountain. Will be able to rip this rig around Utah and Arizona as well. Solid components and backed up with great REI service.
My first full suspension bike. Really enjoying it a couple months in. Makes downhills much more fun than my old hardtail, Novara Matador. It is not super lite, but it works very well. Tires are tubeless ready with a conversion done by the bike techs here while they setup the bike. Techs have been super great. Bike climbs well rides well uphill also, especially as I now have the suspension more dialed in to my weight with my full kit including full Camelpack. Taken it out in foothills, north and south, Placirtas Pine flats, and of course the Bosque, north south and central. Very sturdy, solid ride. Has handled everything I’ve thrown at it. Love the wider beefier tiers it comes with. 29x 2.6, vs my old 29 x2.1. Floats over many of the sandy patches in Bosque. Dropper post is super nice. Took a minute to get used to, but am loving it. Gearing is really nice, pleanty of low gears and high gear plenty fast for me. Shifting is pretty good, have had to do some adjustments, but it is a new bike with new cables that are still getting their breakin period. Love the hydronic disc breaks, so much better than my cable disks on my hardtail. Lotta bike for the price, especially with the 20% + discount I got.
