Solid anchor to install into concrete
This was easy to install, i do have a rotary hammer which makes light work drilling the 4 holes for the concrete screws provided. What is a key differentiator to most anchors is how the screws are protected from someone trying to remove the anchor. With most anchors that i looked at you have to hammer in a ball bearing into the screw to prevent the screw from being removed. With this system there is an outer cylinder that you bolt to the concrete and an inner sleeve that screws into the cylinder that hides the screws. When you put in the chain it prevents the inner sleeve from being rotated so the attacker can’t get at the screws without removing the chain. This means that if I want to relocate the anchor at some point in the future i can - by simply removing the chain - unscrewing the inner sleeve and then removing the screws.
Scare 'em away
I installed this in a storage closet and paired it with a heavy duty chain/lock combo. One look at my setup and bike thieves will move on to something much easier to defeat. The key is to get the beefiest chain/lock combo you can find. Anchor the ANKR to a wall stud or concrete floor. It's an expensive investment, but worth it if you spent big bucks on your new bike.
Solid wall anchor
Solid anchor with a well engineered way of making the mounting bolts non accessible unless lock itself is removed.
